Eagle One Wheel Acid

I don't mean to double post except these comments were slightly OT in the tread it was in.

Anyway, is Eagle One Wheel acid, cut 50/50 with water, safe to use on clearcoated wheels. Eagle One suggests it is not safe. I think maybe the dilution and the short time application of 10 seconds makes it okay. Any comments? I don't want to tear up my clearcoat.

I've used it on 6-8 sets of wheels thus far all being clearcoated. Spray down wheels with water to cool completely and work in the shade. Spray on the acid cut 50/50 and let dwell 30-60 seconds. Agitate and rinse. Follow up with a high alkalinic cleaner (APC) then a pH neutral car wash. Finally, polish and seal.

Every rim I tried, old and new...no ill effects.

Thanks Sean, those were the kind of words I was looking for. I understand, no guarentee, YRMV, but it has worked for you. And you were the guy who peaked my curiousity.

Well I got my wheel acid and gave it a try on my element wheels. Removed 1 wheel and washed up inside with soap and water. About a dozen spots of something remained. Sprayed on the diluted wheel acid, waited 10 seconds and wiped off with soap and water. SPOTLESS !!! Rinsed and washed throughly with APC and soap and water. Sealed off rims with Megs #16.
