Eagle One A2Z

I just went to Advance Auto Parts to pick up some more consumer-style wheel cleaner today because I used up all my Hot Rims a few weeks ago. I have used A2Z in the past, when it was the old formula (non-orange) and felt it was very similar to Hot Rims. They were both pretty decent. So I figured I'd just let price decide, though I was also curious about the new formula of A2Z. As it turns out, the Eagle One was on sale at about $3.95 for a 26 oz. bottle, so I got it. I washed my wife's car today and was totally blown away! Her wheels have always been a pain to clean, and have never really come totally clean when I wash them (though I don't knock myself out). The A2Z made them cleaner than I have ever seen them. Even most of the baked-on permanent crud came off. And I imagine with a little more effort, it would all come off. Plus, the A2Z seems to stay "wet" longer so I can easily spray the front, clean the back, then come back to the front and clean it without worrying that the product will dry on the front wheel. With Hot Rims (and the old A2Z) I had to work fast on the back wheel in order to avoid this.

While her wheels still look sort of crappy from the ubiquitous Nissan clearcoat failure on them, at least now they look clean and aluminum colored! :spot

I am very impressed with this new version of A2Z, and I don't think I will use anything else on dirty wheels. While it certainly won't be replacing the #36 that I use on my car, it will be what I grab when cleaning other people's neglected cars. It really was amazing how it busted up the brake dust. If you get a lot of brake dust or have hard to clean wheels, you really ought to check out Eagle One's A2Z. :bigups

I hear ya there. I've got those rivets around my wheel and they have always been a PITA to clean . With the new formula of A2Z I never have to scrub at all. It all just comes away perfectly clean. Its my wheel cleaner of choice and can't imagine anything else working any better. :bigups :bigups

That's funny Aurora 4.0, I use the same product on our daily driver.

Works great without much effort and does not cause clouding of clearcoat. I only use soap and water on the Z ( never really dirty) but need something strong but safe on the LS400. I too like the fact that on cool/cold rims the product does not dry fast. :xyxthumbs

Nice review Aurora. :xyxthumbs A2Z really does seem to be one of the best (if not the best) retail wheel cleaner out there. I like to use it on all the cars and it has never caused problems.

It's too bad I've tried some other junk in the spirit of "experimentation" Among these that either don't work as effectively or get a :down are:

Turtle Wax Rim Bright (yeah, I know...)

Mothers

Black Magic (old)

Black Magic (new)

Used on dry wheels, instructions followed. They may say "spray on, hose off", but.......

I'm applying these really heavily now in an effort to use them up quicker so I can go buy more A2Z. lol

A2Z is fantastic. But as always, safety first. Make sure you have some safety glasses on when cleaning the wheels with this stuff.
