E320 CDI seats

Got a question that I have posted in the past and get alot of differnet answers. Thought I would try again. My father purchased a 05 320 CDI. On the sticker it says stone leather inserts, there was not a additional charge for this. I have been trying to figure out just where the leather is. I had purchased the Rejuvinator and pristine oil earlier. Not sure where to use the oils and where to use the vinyl cleaner and preps. He had to take it back to the dealer last week for the 1000-3000 mile inspection. I asked 2 different people and got 2 different answers. At the moment I am thinking the parts of the seats that have the little holes,That is the part in the center of the seat, is the leather and the top sides of the seats are vinyl. I do not know about the armrest in the center or the armrest on the doors, not sure what they are. Just do not want to put vinyl cleaner on leather.

Thanks in advance

I did a little research and found the following information. I hope this helps...

2005 Packages - designo Silver Edition

The designo editions are perfect for those individuals who want their E-Class to stand apart from the crowd.

Inside, hand-fitted Stone Nappa leather on the seats and doors provides the perfect complement to attractive brown poplar wood trim gracing the doors, dash, console and steering wheel.

I think I have mentioned this before, but when I bought my car (GM), the leather seat option was surprisingly inexpensive. After I got the car, there were all kinds of GM weasel-words about the leather "seating surfaces"; I found out that the only leather part was the perforated section in the middle--the smooth side bolsters and everything else is vinyl. FWIW, 14 years later the only part that's cracked is the leather (driver's side only).

Don't know what bearing this has on your M-B.

The inserts between the bolsters are leather. The bolsters themselves are mb-tex.

iirc, the pristine clean is great for use on vinyl, and works great on things like mb-tex, so just use a product safe for vinyl and leather and then there are no worries.

Full leather is available for $1500 or

The designo package is a 6,000 dollar option, and does include full nappa leather, but that only is for designo equpped cars. Stone is not just a designo interior color, it is a standard color for front inserts interior, and full leather interiors.

so unless your car has one of those 2 options, its the inserts that are leather. If you look closely, get real close, you should be able to tell a difference in the feel and the texture of the leather vs the vinyl areas.
