Ok i decided to buff my truck today using ssr1 and poorboys polish with carnuba blue. i only had light scratches and i used the edge green pad with ssr1 and edge blue with polish, all on a rotary. Now it seem that every time i start on another panel i get dust on all the panels, and it seems to me i spend more time wiping of dust and sling (creating more scratches) than i do buffing. I need help

Is the dust from product or are you talking about actual dust from crap blowing onto your car?

Right after you polish and use a wax it is going to attract more dust than usual. There is static on the surface as well as fresh oils from the wax. I don't know of a good way to destatic a car after polishing it, so I just deal with the dust for a couple days and then it goes away. Well, not really away, but it gets significantly better after the oils evaporate. I waxed my car on Saturday and I had to dust it a few times between then and now. It is not attracting it as bad right now as it did on Saturday.

It would seem that you used to much product when applying. Am not there but that would be the first thing that I would look at.

One thing that you could try is to use a QD to aide in the removal of products applied. It might help contain the dust on the MF towels that you are using to wipe down the area.

Dust from product removal should not be a problem if properly applied.

Dusting from the pad indicates that to much product was used.

Another thing that might help control the dust is to spur the pad your using. I use on old tooth brush to help clean the pad. I also change pads if dusting gets to be a problem.

When I first started using both the rotary and PC dusting was a problem for almost any product that I used. The more I have used the product the less dusting has been a problem. Incorparating changing pads, amount of product used and spurring more often.
