Dust in paint job..What now

I have a truck that has just been repainted. When painting it I noticed dust settling on the color coat...needless to say I clearcoated over it. I wet sanded out most of the dust, however I now have some gray/primer spots (very tiny) that I can see. Any Ideas on repairing these? A little paint on a toothpick and buff smooth? If someone could let me know how to insert an image and I will post one...

Thanks,

Ray

You post images by uploading them to your Autopia gallery. Click on GALLERY above, and upload your pics. Then come back to this thread, type {IMG}, then post the link to your picture, and then type {/IMG}. But use these brackets [ ] , not these ones { } . I can't post them normally in here, because the computer would think that I'm trying to insert an image and the tags wouldn't show up.

To get the link for your picture, right click on the picture in your gallery, and select Copy Image Location. If that doesn't show up, then select Properties, and copy the URL. Then paste that between the IMG tags in this thread.

I think it would have been easier to just make sure the surface was free of dust before spraying. If you sanded down to the primer, yes you could just take some touch up paint to cover those spots and then buff them down to level with the surrounding paint.

You should post a picture though.

I'm quessing you painted this yourself (correct me if I'm wrong).

I would wet sand the entire panel again (make sure that the little pinholes where you see primer are feathered out) shoot some more paint (just to cover the holes) then re-clear the entire panel.

I'm with MorBid- redo it now and you probably won't regret it. When you see primer it's a bit more serious than some dust in the color coat (which would be enough to justify a redo IMO anyhow).

Dust

Hope it works, the picture is on my desktop.

I guess the picture can not be inserted unless the picture exists on a web page. I only have the pic on my local computer. Pictures seem to be links and not embedded.

Thanks anyway,

Ray

All you need to do is insert that into the Autopia gallery and then you'll get a URL for it. Insert that URL into the IMG tags and it will appear. You cannot show a picture directly from your desktop.

And I agree with Accumulator
