Hi all I been searching on the net and came to this understanding maybe im wrong sometimes too much reading is also bad.

The main car is and old civic 96 silver paint in no so great condition in some areas, other 2 cars would be a newer pick up red, and silver explorer.

By steps
1. Shampoo 901
2. PC-No.2 (Buffing & Polishing Cleaner) 652
3. Clay bar
4. Marine & RV Polish 501
5. Polish Bonding Agent 601
6. Total Performance Polish 105
7. Clear Coat Polish 111
8. Mix Marine & RV Detail Spray 521 with Aquawax 951

that's what I understand would give the best look protection but I might be wrong or I dont need all those products
now that I look at it would I need step 2 and 4 products?
would 105 go before or after 111?
are the steps in the right order?

Thank!

I dont have the products yet waiting on replys to see which ones to order

Looks like you've got it covered but you could leave of number 7. You really don't need 111 if your going to use 105. Save your self some steps and mix 1-4 the 501 and 601 and the 105 and 601. You only need a couple oz mixed per car so don't go mixing a bottle full only what you are going to use right away.

If you need a strong all in one try the following process:

1) Wash with DG 901
2) Clay paint
3) Use #671 Swirl Mark Remover
4) Final wipe with Aqua Wax

The protection offered by #671 is near the top in durability according to Jerry @ Duragloss. I haven't tested this personally but I trust the creator. If in doubt you can add a layer of DG 105 to it. :)

If you want to deep clean the paint, remove minor haze/swirls and really make metallic paints pop and provide max protection:

1) Wash with DG 901
2) Clay paint
3) DG 501 mixed with DG 601 @ 4:1 ratio (4 parts 501 : 1 part 601)
4) DG 105 mixed with DG 601 @ 4:1 ratio (4 parts 105 : 1 part 601)
5) Final wipe with Aqua Wax

DG 111 is a great product, produces a hard candy shine, and has no cleaners in it. Also, I would do a test spot with PC-2 to see if you like the results. I haven't used it enough to give you guidance on its' use.

Interesting that a swirlmark remover would have the same amount or more protection than 111,105 or 501.

Trust me, when I spoke to Jerry about this product and he said that the protection is some of the highest I was shocked as well! I hope to test PC-2 and Swirl Mark Remover soon so that I can provide some quality feedback on it. I believe Richy has been experimenting with #671 SMR.

Nice, a one step that will have more then a few months protection. If you testing proves true Im switching from D151. What is the cut like with the swirl remover?
They need to update their website, all it says it PC-2 or 652 is an abrasive, no mention at all of being a sealant. Its just listed under buffing and polishing cleaners.

PC-2 is an abrasive polish without protection, Swirl Mark Remover is a more powerful product that leaves behind protection. Duragloss uses diminishing nano abrasives for anyone that may be curious.

thanks for all this info guys!

then would this be right the strongest being 501 follow by 671, 652
1) Marine 501
2) Swirl 671
3) PC-2 652
I would like to give the car a new paint job look, without having to re-paint. is and old paint.

So what your saying is that if the 501 doesn't have the cleaning ability you need then use the 671 and expect about the same amount of protection.

Those pics look like clear coat failure to me. I could be wrong, some areas look to be pretty heavy oxidation. The clear coat can only be corrected via repaint. Id be very careful polishing those areas.

I agree with classofshine. I would say some areas are beyond help. They will look better but not "a new paint job look".

This is absolutely clear coat failure - I have a friend's honda right now with this problem, the only way to get rid of the splotchy areas are to re sand and re clear...you can get it glossy but not uniform...

thanks.
is there a specific pad I should be looking for, or just a regular microfiber to try and smooth those areas

Honestly there's no pad that is going to make a difference. Just use what ever pad your using on the rest of the car and make it as good as you can. A doctor can heal the sick but he can't raise the dead. And that is pretty much where your at.

 Thanks BobbyG, but Richy is the man. I follow his guidance. :)

No, I'm saying if DG 501 doesn't remove the imperfections you are hoping to remove, then step up to #671. DG 501 Marine/RV Polish will provide all the cleaning you need, 671 Swirl Mark Remover has more cut and possibly more protection. I need to test PC-2 and Swirl Mark Remover more in depth to be honest.

Isn't that what I said, other than expect more protection? I said expect about the same protection. I think we are on the same track just using different words.:)
