Duragloss AW, I'm impressed!

Well. It's really raining out here this morning so no chance to play with the MF towels a little more today. Maybe later I can dry my truck and try a little buffing with them. I'm going to use them exclusively for a while just to give them a fair chance and see how they work compared to the all cotton.

Someone gave me a link to a great article about the MF material and it sure does sound good. Mike

RogueM3, wow that is what I am talking about!!! DG is really a find and nicely priced. And with all the talk on 921 Fast Clean and Shine Detail Spray, I will be picking this up and comparing it to the Poorboy S&W (running low on my 5 gal), if it kicks butt as others have experienced then I have a new powerhouse goto QD at a better price and locally too :bounce

I found that on "MY" car red, if you use more than three coats of AW the finish is very reflective and looses some of the wet and deep look. But 1 Coat impressed.

Most claim it is even more than a QD, with durability on par with OCW. (some claiming up to 3-4 weeks of solid beading)

Ive just ordered some Fast and Clean today. The man said that they will have it by Tuesday afternoon. Has anybody compared it with Poorboys S.n W. ?

I have compared the two for several months now. I consider FCS to be the definition of what a QD is all about. It does not clean as well as SW, that should be pointed out right away. I really think SW is almost like a QEW or ONR type product. It is strong stuff! But it does not take or give much to the shine itself - it is focused on dirt and dirt alone. It should be considered a spray cleaner of some sort, like something between a QEW product and a true, dedicated QD product.

FCS has good cleaning ability so don't get me wrong. It is sufficient for most things you would QD for but not as powerful as the Poorboys. What it does have, however, is a more impressive gloss. It does add something that you can really see. It is right between SW, which excells at cleaning, and Aquawax, which is almost like a spray sealant or "topper". In other words, FCS is a compromise and like any compromise, peak efficiency is achieved at neither end but it is also a "best of both worlds" product. If you want to save a step or two go with FCS. If you don't mind using SW then top with something else like Aquawax or Menzerna HGAS, you will not need FCS - the choice is yours.

I have finished the Z8; will AW work similar?

Best Regards.

Yes, AW is a spray sealant, like Z8. I have found they both function similarly, although I think AW lasts a little longer as a standalone LSP.

For less than 1/2 the cost of Z8, I almost guarantee you will really like AW. It looks great, is very slick, and adds real, lasting protection to the paint. For $6-$7, it's well worth it!!

Ok, throwing in my 2 cents about AW...

Had long been a skeptic of AW, thinking that such an inexpensive OTC product could not compete with many of the more expensive boutique products, however, I was given a bottle as a freebie from one of the online resellers and a couple days ago finally gave it a try on my own car, and now wish I had done so a long time ago.

On my dark blue 06 Honda I currently have WG, AJT, 476(x2). I've been treating it with Crystal Mist after each wash and it has been looking extremely good! This past Wed evening I did a rinseless wash with DP 4-in-1, then applied a coat of AW. I must say the gloss & slickness that AW left behind is exceptional; a notch above what I was getting from CM. Yesterday we had a light rain and the beading action was great, too.

I'll wash again this weekend (probably another DP rinseless wash again as the high temp is supposed to be in mid 30's), and add another layer of AW to see whether I can deepen the gloss a bit more :-)

I too must praise the product. From this thread (and others) I ordered a gallon and I'm glad I did. It's worth mentioning again that the paint looks better and feels slicker the next day after application. Dirt doesn't seem to stick as readily and the beading is nothing short of fantastic. Great stuff!!

All of Duragloss products are very good, and some are great , Aquawax being the greatest. Ive heard some good things about #101 cleaner wax, and I want to give it a try to see how it works as a one step, and as a precleaner for #111 and #105.

...as much as I'd like to try each of the other DG products, I'm gonna have to wait til I run out of my other stuff.
