Duragloss Aqua Wax VS Mothers FX Spray Wax

I washed the car today for the second time since I applied the two spray waxes. Also have had some rain on and off since than. When I wet the car down with water it beaded nicely on both sides of the hood. The center piece with the Collinite Insulator Wax was beading great too as expected. The surface was slick on both sides with the FX side slightly more so. When I rinsed the soap off again the beading was nice. Than I removed the nozzle and let the water flow so I could sheet the water off the surface as I do every wash. Worked great on all three areas with no noticeable difference between the two sides with the spray waxes but the area with the IW repelled water more noticeably. No visual differences to me between the three areas.

As of right now the two spray waxes are even in all areas with a slight edge in slickness going to FX.

Since you are to use the bonding agent before applying 105 and the aquawax is a watered down version of the 105 I don't think the AW will last as long the way you are using it as if it was put over 105 like it was intended to be used. IMHO your test will not give the same results as if you used the AW the way it was intended to be used.

My test is simply to compare Aquawax to Mothers FX Spray Wax. From my testing there is not much difference between them.

Yes I understand that you are trying to compare the two but the point that I was making is that if it don't bond to the wax under it that will effect the performance. Duragloss say that 105 will not bond to wax you need to use their bonding agent. Since AW is designed to replace what was lost from washing it contains 105 in a diluted form. If 105 won't stick to wax then AW won't stick properly either
You should apply the mothers spray wax on mothers wax and put the AW on top of 105 that way you would be using both as they were intended.
The way you are doing it could change the results.
If you satisfied with the way you are testing that is fine but I think it will prove nothing.
Can you say what effect the wax has on the AW I'm no chemist but when those who make it tell me not to put it on wax I figure their must be a reason why they are saying that.

Both FX and AW are top notch products. I myself like AW a little better , because it seems to leave a hard slick surface instead of a greasey slick surface. It like you used a hard paste wax. The reflective shine from AW is outstanding. I wish it would fill minor swirls better. I interchange between AW for its high shine and Nano spray for its swirl hiding.

I think you better do some searches on this forum and others on how people are using Aquawax. It is being used over almost any thing by many. The hot combo on one forum is Aquawax over Insulator Wax. Since it is being used as a general spray wax like Mothers FX, Eagle One Nano, Optimum, etc I wanted to test it as such. I wanted to see if it was deserving of it's Zaino like hype. My results are that it is no better than the Mothers FX. That is not a knock against Aquawax since I regard Mothers FX as excellent. This was not a scientific analysis or anything close to that. It was a real every day comparison of two products that occupy the same place in the detailing process.

I have been noticing some Zaino like stupidity entering into the discussions about Duragloss products on the forums lately. Lets keep things in perspective. Duragloss IS NOT a revolutionary product that will change the way people detail their cars forever. Duragloss IS a very good product line (like many others) that just happens to be available over the counter and has been for a long time. The sheeple are just now pulling their heads out of their a$$es and realizing that it has been under their noses for some time. I have been using the Duragloss car wash soap long before the heard started charging and am happy to see it getting some long over do recognition but it is starting to get ridiculous in a Zaino type way and that isn't good.
