The sign on the window is fantastic! Great looking Audi, so classy!

Yea I laughed when I saw it. The sign did serve a purpose though, my saleswoman said if it wasnt there the service dept. would have certainly prepped the car, washing and possibly a light buff (aka an 8" dirty wool pad being moved along the paint at 2400rpm very quickly) would have been done. She also told me she have never delivered a "dirty" car:lol I guess people dont realize dealerships do more harm than good!

Stunning!

A highly sought after car, yes, but did you get a deal based on the recession we are in?

A deal:nono? I wish I did but there were very little incentives on this model. I couldnt get one for a long time and was looking at 335's instead and then my saleswoman called one day out of the blue and said there is a car at the factory waiting to be configured, it had no paint or anything yet because it was a very early 2009 order that was cancelled. She said if you want it tell me know so I can lock it down for you and then you can pick out options etc.

The only other way to get one was to take whatever dealers had in stock, most were automatics first of all so that was a no-no and they were all heavily optioned with the Nav systems, tech packs and Bang and Olufson sound systems.... all that equaled more $$$$ and I didnt need any of those options.

I am very picky so for me getting the exact car configured to my liking was important and they car had to be stick!

To spend $2500k for the audi nav system is ridiculous when you gan get a small tom tom for $250.

So is $60k for a car when you can get one for $15k :D:D:D

PS: That is actually a superdeal compared to the Subaru wrx - where it is a $4k option.

PPS: did you know that you can use your cell phone to get direction for $9.95 a month??? :D:D:D:D

Well, the thing is the audi nav system or any integrated navigation system for that matter provides no real benefit over an off the shelf unit for 1/10th the price other than the fact that its integrated into your dash.

In most cases a good Garmin or TomTom unit is easier and more effective to use in your car compared to the much more expensive intergrated Nav's that come with the car. As for paying $10 a month for cell phone directions, well, in 3 years of owning the same car I would pay $360 for the combined years of service for phone directions where again I could buy a $250 TomTom and use it forever, plus I dont like the idea of using my cell phone for GPS navigation.

When you buy a $15k car you get what you pay for, ie: lack of performance, comfort, luxury etc. Im not saying you need those things in a car by any means, but if you choose to pay a premium price for a product it better be "premium", I dont feel the price of the Audi nav is worth its premium costs because I can have an off the shelf GPS for a far less amount of money and get better use out of it, similar to how I buy $25 paint sealant over $2500 car wax, with the sealant I pay less and personally think I get better performance out of it (looks and durability).

I work very hard to be able to afford the car I drive, which by the way is not even close to $60k as that number you stated is inflated by a good $15k, you maybe have confused the A5 for the more expensive S5 Audi which has the V8.

BTW the Subaru nav on the new WRX is only $2000, not $4000, which by comparison if much cheaper than other car manufactures nav option prices. I think you were referring to the WRX STi nav option which is coupled with the 18" BBS wheels as well, the nav and wheels TOGETHER are $4000 fyi.

No hard feelings just explaining me way of thinking:werd:

I just made that number up, but don't you get the B&O sound system with it? Unless you are not into sound the Garmin's speakers suck. :D

Your car looks great, enjoy.

beautiful ride, and awesome prep work. next car i buy (will be a long while b4 that happens..) i'll b doing the same thing - not taking delivery if it's been touched by anyone else.

most def mad props for getting the manual - it's a niche market car but i'd have it no other way.

how do you like rejex on the windows? have you used this method before? i currently use either rain-x or aquapel. i've heard of using wax/sealant on windows before but i wonder about durability/streaking. one thing of love about rain-x/aquapel is they don't seem to be affected by UV rays like wax/sealants do, so depending on how often you use your wipers/clean the glass you can can mega durability form them
