dsms detail - Black Mercedes 430 "minor nightmare"

I thought the pics would answer your question I guess I was wrong, the HRE wheel had THREE YEARS OF ETCHED IN BRAKE DUST.....

Hey man, thanks for posting that picture, I understand it removed the etched in brake dust, and that it's not HF-based, I was asking if this is really a "detergent" cleaner like P21S or if it is a non-HF acid, like the Valugard wheel cleaner. If it's truly a neutral-pH product like P21S and it can burn out brake dust like HF or ABF, then it's quickly going to become the best-selling wheel cleaner there is.

I think at times people will get caught up in the chemical compositions of this cleaner or that wax and look past the fact that a product just works. Here is my ctiteria if I try a product and it works better than what I am using presently by saving time or makes any particular part of the car I am working on look better thus producing better results, then that product is added to my arsenal in the detail wars.

Thanks for that insight into your product selection process. I, however, have work experience with HF and I personally do not want to use wheel cleaners that have HF or ABF in them. I also already have other acidic, caustic, and neutral wheel cleaners, so I'm trying to decipher if this product is actually any different than those, okay? I apologize if I annoyed you by having different criteria. :sosad

Awesome work Dave. I have a softspot for W208 Mercedes as I own one. Mine was in similar shape when I purchased it a few years.. Keep them coming !!

Hey, thanks again for that "try it it just works don't ask too many questions" input. I was at the Gloss-It site looking for a little more info on the wheel gel but couldn't find any but found they had a forum...and shockingly you were a beta tester for this product. :hm

I can see where this is going.......... what is so shocking about me testing the beta wheel gel? answer me that.

I have made no bones that I am a Gloss-it guy, I use and endorse their gear but I also use P&S, Chemical guys, Menzerna on occasion(po85rd),Lake country pads, Edge pads etc..... I am sure if I made a search on your posts I would find that you are fond of one product line or another.

Rich @ Gloss-it is a very good friend of mine, maybe you did not read the posts in the recent past where people here were not to fond of him and the product line, and now things have swung in the other direction because the gear performs plain and simple.

Quit trying to be salty, if you think I am spamming that's your misguided opinion....... and if you do not like the gear for any reason that is your right, but until you have used it how can you form an opinion.

Now if this turns into a flame war that is on you, my body of work speaks for itself and has for over fifteen years.

Look, I'm not a fan-boy of yours (or anyone else on this site) so I don't keep up with what kind of "guy" you are or who your friends are. All I'm looking for is a fair appraisal of the product, which is clearly going to be questionable from a "very good friend" of the owner.

This isn't about flame wars, this is about disclosure; all it would have taken was "I think this is the greatest wheel cleaner ever, but I'm friends with the guy who makes it, so consider that in your evaluation of my opinion" or something similar. The last thing we need here is another exotic car detailer who has an undisclosed affiliation with a vendor or mfr. (sorry if you have "made no bones" about it, but I don't follow you around reading all your posts)

I'm done threadjacking.

How much more diclosure do you need?, just because YOU are not up on facts in evidence is not my problem, also the reason there is not much about the product is because it is a BETA which means not a production product but now it is.

Furthermore I resent your comment " The last thing we need here is another exotic car detailer who has an undisclosed affiliation with a vendor or mfr." I have been up front always and the fact you do not "follow me around" means nothing to me you self important a******** anyone who knows me knows this I am not riding the ego train, you made a assumption before you knew the facts, and if you want product info pick up the phone and call Rich as you should have done in the first place because you are obviously interested somehow just look at the results in the write ups.

The comment "exotic car detailer" says it all......... that is my client base and I have earned it thru hard work, so quit drinking hatorade and put pics up of your work and let it be that.

Setec and Bob...Can we please keep this civil and knock off the finger pointing. This thread is not going to turn into another diaster.

Thanks

David...I also just noticed the Vic Firth decal...can I assume that you're a drummer?

Assume away Todd... yes I actually used to be very into music, drums being my choice instrument, but with many things in life my passion for drumming faded after about 5 years of play. I used to wear the Vic Frith ear wear to drone a snare drum, now I use them to drone out the flex rotary "whiiiine" :lol

Mose, I am not your size xxxxl but at 6'0'' 260 I use the craftsman rolling caster seat and it works for us full figured detailers(the pc description lol)
