Drying before claying - Necessary?

I leave the suds on when I clay and do a final rinse after I'm done claying. FWIW

It's not wrong ... it's probably even considered the "normal" way ... I think the directions on the Clay Magic box even instruct you to do this ... but using soapy water can make the process move more quickly.



But I rinse the lather from my initial wash before I move onto using a new bucket of soap lather for the claying session. This will help remove any debris that the initial wash loosens from the automobile surfaces.

I don't, but not because it's wrong. I was looking for ways to save a little bit of time during my detail process and this was one of the areas I thought I could do so. So instead of drying the car after I wash it, I'll clay it first with the remaining water on the car and then dry it.

But we have hardwater in our area .....doesn't leave waterspots by not drying it before claying?

depends on what time of day you wash. keep your cars surface wet and you shouldnt have a problem.
