Some Jack @&S must of left the tailgate open on a work truck and lost 10 gals of what I'm pretty sure is latex house paint spilled over the road near my office.:furious:
I came around corner and soon as I did there were 2 5 gal buckets of paint in the middle of the road broken and it was to close for me to miss with the passenger side of my red pristine 2001 Mazda Miata. Fortunately I was able to find a self serve car wash near where I work and my boss gave permission for me to go to try to get as much off as I could and I had a microfiber towel in my trunk. I beleive I got it all of the outside body panels, but my under carriage, passenger side tires, and wheels wells I couldn't get to good enough and will have to put the car up on stands after I get home from work. What parts of the wheel wells I could reach the paint would not come all the way off of the black plastic. What will get the job done on all those surfaces? I was thinking scotchbrite pads and water for the black plastic wheel well area.
I'm just sick, because I'm trying to sell this car for top dollar and I just got my DA a week ago and spent hours correcting, sealing, waxing and detailing to show room condition.
Okay Sorry I didn't do search first...frankly I was panicing! I've worked my backside off to get and keeping this car as perfect for sale as possible so I can get something more fitting for my lifestyle. Anyway after doing a search I ran accross a thread about Optimum Power Clean being used for Latex house paint removal. I only wish there was some place I knew of I could buy some locally in the Sacramento Area. I hate to have to wait for it to be delivered as I want this crap off the car as soon as possible in case someone is interested in buying it. Do you all think a 17 oz bottle will be enough to clean my passenger side wheel wells, side ground effects, tires. Also what would work best to get as much of the paint out of my tire tread a possible. Should I use the Optimum Power Clean full strength or 3:1 like it says for regular paint cleaning.
