Dressings

I have yet to be satisfied fully with the dressings I have from PRO... or really any of the ones I've found that I can get in bulk.

I am looking for dressings for the interior, exterior trim, wheel wells, and Tires. Just to clarifiy because I know I'm gonna get asked. I'm not trying to find one dressings to cover all those areas... but it would be nice...

I want to be able to buy them in bulk and have them be resonably priced. $120 for a gallon isn't resonable... A gallon size and up but a quart size would also work. 5 gallon buckets... awesome...

For a tire dressing I want something that produces a matte to medium shine finish, doesn't fling off easily, and is easy to get an even coat. Thinking of going w/ the 5 gallon buckets of Stoner's Trim Shine for tires. Anyone use this product for tires and how do you like it? I use the aerosol version of the trim shine on tires and really like it.

For exterior trim I want something that's not gonna run down the paint too easily. Any ideas?

Interior Trim I'm looking for something that doesn't give a super high shine. The main thing I want is that it dries almost completely... I'm really thinking about just going with 303 Aerospace on this unless there's something else out there that's similar.

I am quite happy with two Poorboy's products, Natural Look and Bold 'n' Bright. I initially used the Natural Look for dressing both interior and exterior applications and it performed just fine.

On the dash area, Natural Look provides a very low gloss just more than a matte appearance. The smell is pleasant, not over powering and dissipates over time. I usually the second or even third week before any dust is noticeable.

On the tires, Natural Look provided a very matte appearance. The bumper trim and rub strips on the doors also looked very, well...natural. :D

When I switched to using the Bold 'n' Bright on the tires and exterior trim, I found the finish to being "just" more of a low gloss, however you can add more gloss by applying with a tire swipe vs. terry towel. The wheel wells really seem to stay much cleaner when using Bold 'n' Bright vs Armor All's Tire Shine.

I used to use Meguiars #40, but Armor All has a very similar semi-gloss shine and is cheaper. Plus, I can get it pretty much anywhere. I use it for tires, fenderwells and vinyl.

Natural Look is $15 for a quart I think. I know Steve has five gallon pails of the stuff. You should give him a call for pricing.

I really like the Poorboy's Natural Look and Bold'n'Bright as well. But I use NL more for the interiors because of the matte finish it puts on dashboards and the nice smell it has. It's a little too matte for tires for me and most customers I have want more of a shine anyway. The B'n'B provides a great look and doesn't sling. You can use on wheel wells and engine parts as well. I just wish it were available in gallon form rather than to buy four 32oz.

But between the both of them, it meets most of my "dressing" needs.

Take care.... V :wavey

PoorBoys has a brand new website. I placed the first order on it for PoorBoys Natural Look for my tires. I also ordered those super PVA applicator blocks. Steve put a photo of my truck on the customers cars page. It is the F-250 at the bottom on the far right.

I also use Meguiars #40 for all the same reasons Scottwax mentioned.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't really like the finish that armor all gives.

I'm still really thinking about Stoner's Trim Shine but will have to see what Poorboy has to offer now.

Intel - Try Trim Shine, you will not be disappointed. I've been using it for over 5 years. I get the 5 gallon pail. I use it for everything. I use it full strength on tires and dilute it 1:1 for interiors for a satin look.

I think the S-92 Premo Dressing works nice for the interior and engine bays.

The S-71 Clear Rubber Dressing work nice on exterior plastics and tires.

Pro has a tire gel that I use that work nice for tires too.

Have you try any of these products yet?

I've tried the S-92 Premo and didn't like the finish. It still stayed a little greasy.

NJDetailer, I'll probably be going w/ the Trim Shine. I like it for tires but didn't even think about diluting it for interior use.

ccreamer, I remember it being around $60 a gallon.
