"DP" Detail & Review: 2004 Escalade

Great as usual Justin! Have you tried the Armor All Foam and DP Gel combo yet?

Who the heck would dress treads anyways? I have a powerful 2wd V8 suv, I'd have no traction:chuckle:

Fantastic turnarounds as always Justin. I've found the DP products to work great too, very reasonably priced for what you get. Scott was right on about the interior, I hope you wore gloves when you worked on that! The tires look great with the DP dressing, reminds me of Mother's Reflections or Vroom dressing. Looking forward to your next reviews. :goodjob

Poor you Justin...it seems you that you always get nasty interiors to work on! Great job. Nevertheless, I would like you to know that I have the DP car wash shampoo and I am not completely satisfied with it simply because it does not seem to rinse well and it does not provide the kind of lubrication that my previously used shampoos have provided me with (Sonus). It suds up nicely and a little goes a long way though, and it was a great price for the size they gave me at the time. Keep up the excellent work.

What?

I drove it around the building to get better shots.

Any of you clean and dress the treads?

LOL!

Look smartass I never said anything about dressing the treads, I said they aren't clean which is obvious. It looks like it was driven down a gravel road then the sidewalls were dressed.

If you can't take constructive criticism then don't post.

Whoa man!

No need to cuss at me. I was just making a joke. That's all. I think you may need to step back. I can take criticism but not profanity.

Can you take criticsm?

Hi Pot, this is the Kettle, I have something to tell you...

LOL!

Took me like 5 minutes to even get that but then spit my drink out on my desk!

With your permission, can I quote you in any upcoming comments?

Haha!

Thanks man. I really did laugh like crazy once I got it. I'm sure that quote will come in handy soon (if you know what I mean!).

My dad had one that I like to use.

"God gave us 2 ears and one mouth. Guess which one we need to be doing twice of?"

Really partakes for around here huh?

You're out-of-line. Take two :chill:, and switch to decaf. Then think twice before tossing out insults like "smartass", or you'll find yourself in timeout for a few days.

Overall nice work but the tires leave a little to be desired. The sidewalls are cleaned yet the tread is not.

Lorne

Are you serious? When you clean the treads do use a tooth brush along with Q-tips or do you use the other method using a water pick and dental floss? I want to make sure I learn to do this part of the detail correctly. If this vehicle were sitting on stands at a local car show this would have been a reasonable comment. The fact that this vehicle is obviously a driver it just comes across as silly.

Please, everyone . . . deep breath, let it go.

Wax something. You'll feel better.

DP's Gel Wheel Cleaner

(Used EDGE Wheel ShMitt on tires and wheels)

I was most eager to try this product out. I sprayed the tires and wheels down. I did one side at a time. I intentionally did not wear any gloves to feel the effects on my skin

Thx, for volunteering as guinea pig, I take it that the skin on your hands is still intact ;)

I really hope that you wouldn't do this with something like Meg's wheel brightener though (which I believe you also use?), or any other product containing Ammonium Bifluoride.

Wheel brightener has a NFPA health rating of 3, which reads: Short exposure could cause serious temporary or residual injury even though prompt medical attention was given. :nervous:

There is an interesting article on Ammonium Bifluoride available from Professional Carwashing & Detailing Magazine here: Article Archives

I will start a new thread with more info...

I always where gloves with wheel brightener. The DP Gel was very gentle. Like dishwashing detergent. Thanks for noticing too!
