DP Coating?

I put it on 2 vehicles a couple of weekends ago. Impossible to test durability at this point, but it looks great and is super slick.

Even after not washing for 2 weeks, the paint looks very glossy. I'm hoping it lasts as long as they say, especially since my wifes car sits outside all the time and is a daily driver.

Looks like Max has his "own" coating now. Price seems good, who's the first guinea pig?

Also intersted in the glass sealer....subscribed

Rcvd my DP paint sealant yesterday. Used it on three cars so far. Black, red, and blue. All three cars came out great. A bit streaky...difficult to level with a dry micro. Used a damp cotton cloth folded to finally level nicely. As always, I ended up with my rotary and favorite finish pad....taking every last mark out. Nice correcting sealer. Very nice product if I do say....by Joe I think autogeek has another winner!!!! I think waxes are becoming a thing of the past. Love the velvet feel after the seal. I did not use any pre-prep. My cars were pretty perfect as it was. GREAT PRODUCT overall! Just my two cents.

Overall I was pleased with the results....a bit pricey but whats not these days. I used about one third of the bottle on four cars. But there was a learning curve. As there is with any new product. This is a product that clearly, less is more. Maybe two to three squirts per panel. I'm sure they don't intend anyone to try it with a rotary. But I live dangerously. Panel correction is about experimentation. I never plateau, I go for the gusto. On my own cars I strive for complete panel correction with a product. On the bombs people bring me, I do what I can. I need to charge more if I use this product on a clients car. I have not figured a price yet.

I was set to order until I got to the shipping charges. $12.95 to ship 4oz. I'll pass for now.

Go grab some other stuff from the sale that they're having now to make your order above $95, then use the AGO2013 code to get free shipping.

Use code ship50, free shipping on anything over $50.

This product is really nice. You don't need to even see the visible wetting of the paint for it to apply very nicely. If you are having smearing with this product, just like Opti-Seal, you are using too much. 1-2 squirts per panel is more than sufficient.

The real question for me is how will it perform against love bugs. I, like many saw the long 18 mth review of Opticoat and how love bugs power washed right off. Any indication how DP coating is going to shed these buggers.

What do you mean? Opti Coat is nothing like these "coatings" - one is permanent. the other is gone in 18 or so months. True, way better than traditional LSPs, but they can't touch OC. OC is worth every cent.

Anxious to see how this lasts. Tired of paying so much $$$ for so little Opti-Coat!

18 months - jeez, I'd be happy with a product that went that long. I am still on the fence as far as coatings go, but, I have to say that the DP one checks all my boxes, easy to apply, easy to wipe off, no finicky procedure or issues (essentially JB proof), very slick feeling and cheap - relative to all others. I guess I've read as much about coatings as you can find, Marc Harris had a great write-up BTW, and unless things change, I'll be trying the DP stuff soon.

It's going very strong at month 1, here is day 2 need to take updated videos

Just ordered some last night. I'm going to be putting it on at least 2 friend's cars, possibly 3 and check in on them monthly over the winter to see how it holds up to road salt.

I would argue that DG squeaky clean can't do anything that Eraser can do....I've applied squeaky clean with a foam finishing pad watching the pad turn totally black...after I've already washed, clayed, and decontaminated...it may not be as fast as Eraser to use, but the two are apples and oranges in my book, and SC is less than $10.

Ha! Still on the fence, I guess I'll get some eventually. But, I have seen a couple issues where someone used a QD or something and the coating reacted in a nasty way. Still, decent price and .....aw hell, I'll get it when it goes on sale July 4th
