Direct sunlight isn't the issue for me. My garage doesn't get below 90 in the summer

I do store my clay in a hard plastic food storage container though & mist it with lube occasionally = no sticking problems, but it sure is "pliable"

I buy it from a local dealer supply house. The eraser bars are just like Mother's, zaino, wolfgang, etc. I am not sure how they compare to the CM, I haven't used one in years. I do have a CM bar at home that I can try and compare though......

No need to break out the CM and compare ... I was just looking for a local way to get a large bar of clay without the lube as I just use QEW as a lube, and the "two HUGE yellow bars" from your original post got my attention.
