Doin' a Viper tomorrow

It's even a black one... Last time i talked with him i turned him on to zaino. It got a paint job not to long ago, nothing to fancy... the guy that had it before him spun out going 130 and he restored it... would of taken like 8 months or something to get in to the good paint shop so he did it himself, he is amazing though... i have some before pics somewhere, i'll post the after ones when i'm done. It was a sight to see.. the tires had flat spots about 8-12 inches across them, looked like a circle with a flattened top, rubber was ripped off completely. The car didn't hit anything but the torque on the body broke of part of some of the pannels, like the hood. But this guy is amazing at everything, he didn't want a whole hood (said it was like 9 grand for one) so he bought one from a guy around here who wrecked his viper, but that corner of his hood was good. So he cut off the chunks and put them togeather, even right up close you can't even tell.



Only thing is it's been probably 5+ months since i did a big job (water restrictions then winter). I'm pretty sure i can find all my stuff again, just gotta get it all ready. I'm thinking i should be really nervous detailing a car that costs more than my colledge education, but the guy i'm doing it for is a really cool guy so i'm not too worried. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
 
hey, dont worry about doing a pricey car. The PC is extremely safe and from the pics uve posted before I am 100% sure you will do an excellent job! When I did a $105k, i just went slow and took my time. Car came out excellent and the owner was amazed. Good luck and post plenty of pics!
 
I'm not even going to charge the guy... He really knows how to drive that thing.... just 15 minutes in the pasenger seat with him behind the wheel would make my hours of labor worth it. Just have to wait for the roads to get a little clearer... Colorado roads are horrible around this time... nothing worse than slamming into a rock kicked up from someones truck off the road at 100+ mph

Important advice. Be sure to explain to the customer that the only way to remove trapped water after washing is 3 minutes at no less than 100MPH - Dodge forgot to put that in the owners manual, but you remembered reading that somewhere.

Well another very satisfied customer. I was a little shocked when i saw the car... it was the first wax since it's new paint job... unfortunatly the car had really been through hard times. The paint was in worse condition than my car.



All kinds of fine scratches (and some deeper ones that he said were stress cracks). Super swirlled. We washed it first, he brought out his wash mitt... it looks like he used it to change oil.. caked in dirt and grime. I had to educate him a lot about the proper tequnique, but overall the results were really good. Now rather than looking like an abused viper with bad paint, it looks like the high dollar car it should. Through the customer's advice (and help) i'm going to try and get in with the local viper club chapter. I'll get some pics when i go back there for my ride.
 
definitely post pics, OK? My across the street neighbor stole my thunder. Less than a month after buying my new 'vette he buys a viper. But it's all good, he came over when I washing the car and I went over some of the products I've started using. Man was he impressed with the MF towels. Gave him this site address, so post those pics.
 
wow... it's been like 24 hours... and the guy i did it for must of been really impressed. He already spread my name to a friend of his (VP for a BIG IT company out here) with a brand new bimmer and brand new porshe he wants me to do.... not only will that probably pay awesome... but i might be able to get a real job (ie with my comp sci degree in 3 more semesters) out of it. Time to order some more supplies.
 
That can be a great oportunity for you! Just do more exceptional work and you will get that job!
