Doesn't this package deal make buying other pads silly?

Then I must've misunderstood you, sorry.

In the end, I'll be ordering from CMA, Danase, Excel, Pakshak, Autopia cc, Autogeek, all the good places we all like to shop at. I hope to give everyone mine and my friens business. ;)

No problem all is good:up

I find it refreshing being able to purchase high quality Lake Country pads for only 5 bucks a pop. Someone please give me a reason (for PC users) why a $18 Edge pad, or $12 Sonus/Propel pad can touch a LC low pro 5.5" pad for 5 bucks.

:nixweiss I guess because I have a 6" backing plate and my local distributor sells me the larger pads for $8 each.

:p

Umm ok. What knowledge are they "giving me" in a thead about the best priced product on the market? And what's this "far more than the few bucks you are going to save on a pad" business. You guys are so dramatic, you're telling me if I ask a question now, Patrick/Bob will eschew me simply because I bought a differnet buffing pad then he sells? Sure makes a lot of sense (and I doubt they'd turn a potential future customer away). I hope this type of reply isn't the norm around here when things get a bit "different." All I see is defensive people trying to defend the products they sell, or people like you defending what you like.

Sure the edge are 2 sided, they better be 4 sided for 20 bucks a pad!

That's one reason I'm rarely on this site. Some people give good info, but other times there's total dramatizing about every little thing. Ya gotta beat your way through the BS and take the posts what they are worth.

I love my Edge pads. Ya get what ya pay for. If you ever have a problem with an Edge pad, you better guarantee Aaron or anyone at the Edge company will take care of you.

I had a yellow cutting pad I had a problem with. I contacted Aaron and sent him the pad. I received a new pad in the mail but it happened to be an 8" pad, and not the 6" I had. No biggy, I could still use it. 2 days later I received not just one, but 2 replacement yellow 6" pads. I got 3 pads for free, close to a $60 value.

As for AG, I've never experienced any problem with them. A++ in my book.

As far as Autopia vendors. I can't comment on them, because I've never ordered from them. I may be purchasing some Hi-temp or CG products from Danase though in the future.

Screw the "dramatics"...

Doesn't this package deal make buying other pads silly?

People express a view, and its overdramatizing? Gimee a break......

The value of the product doesnt stop at the edge of the pad, there's more to a purchase then what you pay for it at the counter. Otherwise our clients would find a cheaper detailer........Its what you do after the sale or detail, that is "value"......

I couldn't agree more!

Nothing against AG because I've received good service from them but my first choices are exceldetail and pakshak because of the personalized service.

Just a quick example:

My 5" brand X backing plate was not holding pads very well and I needed a new one ASAP. My local Meguiars distributor was closed that Friday (day after Turkey day), so at 5 PM my time (3 PM California time), I call Patrick at excel and explained the situation. After telling him I wouldn't be able to get home for a couple of hours to place the order, he said he'd ship it out immediately (even before I paid!) to make sure I got it as quick as possible. The backing plate and the other products I ordered were at my home on Monday. That is the level of service I am talking about.

BTW, I wouldn't expect Patrick to ship an order before payment unless he has already dealt with you at least a few times. ;)

On the other hand Patrick's personalized service is killing me. Every single time he sends candy with an order so I have to eat it. He is directly responsible for increase in my calory intake and resulting part of weight gain!

:grrr

Patrick, J/K :lol This means backing plates arrived the other day and candy was gone moment I opened package :lol And thank you for the towel!

If that is the attitude you take, you can scratch me off your "future customer's list."

So now we're to the point of accusing a great vendor like AG to a "OTC" joint? Great, that makes a lot of sense. They are no different then you, a small vendor making it in the marketplace. So what if they do more volume then you, that doesn't mean I shouldn't shop for the best deal. Should I then start buying Zaino too? Is it 'better' because of its cost? Maybe I should burn coupons, and stop shopping sales to, where does it end?

I don't get your reasoning Patrick? Are you 'that' defensive to feel the need to reduce my original point? Can you honestly tell me that your pads are of a better quality/value than Lake Country? Even if you could (doubtful), we'd be splitting hairs here. I'm done with this argument, I'm sure Autogeek sold some more inexpensive pads because of this thread, and they deserve that business. :up

They are better than 4 pads. When your traditional velcro backed pads fail, my edge pads will still be going strong. The reason i (and many others) switched to edge is becuase i got tired of the backing falling off after so many uses/washes and trying to center them. With edge there is no backing that can fall off and i dont ever have to worry about centering the pad. Go ahead and buy your 6 pack/cheap pads, you will be replacing them long before i have to replace my edge pads. In the end, you will be spending alot more than $20 on pads.

Ummmmmmmmm............You obviously are misunderstanding my point. :goodjob

Not bashing AG, just bringin up some points that may be of concern to those who purchase from them.
:nixweiss

Scotta and Zoran obviously understand, and see where Im coming from. You cant win 'em all, so I will just leave it at that.......

Nimble, if you ever reach the retail business level and are on the selling side of the counter, you'll realize the business philosophy determines the bussineses attitude. Your confusing a companies attitude with there philosophy.

Also, I never undermined the fact that AG is selling at great prices, again, your original intent remains in tact. You've conveyed to the members here, that AG is selling quality products, at phenominal prices, and would it make sense to consider shopping elsewhere.....

My defense was not, ...."the pads suck you should buy elsewhere"...........Maybe you should revisit that reply? My viewpoint was/is, "What exactly do you get at that price?"

And you dont get my reasoning?

This thread is rapidly spiraling downward. Before we hit rock bottom, it's time for this:
