Does this routine seem alright?

Hi guys, i've been into detailing my car since i got it new about a year and a half ago. I started off using the meguiar's gold class wax, then before this last summer i switched to the meguiar's 3 stem system. The paint cleaner, the polish, and the carnuba. It has worked great, and i have applied many coats. My paint is very glossy, i can put a terry cloth towel on the hood and it will slide right off. This upcoming spring and summer, i am looking for a little more though. I have heard that meguiars is coming out with a new product line, that is more like the product that zaino has. Is this true? If so, do you all think it will be a worthwhile product. Here are a couple pics of my paint, its a pretty good reflection.

I'd switch from the burgandy bottle products and go to Meguiars Body Shop Professional line. Swirl Free Polish and Hand Polish will make a very nice base for Meguiars new NXT protectant that is coming out in Febuary (search the product discussion forum for more information).

I love that blue on your Mustang, by the way! Car looks great!

Your routine seems okay, you may want to consider meguiars 9 or even DACP if you have swirling or scratches. The NXT is a a sealant product and its early reviews have been very positive, so i would recomend that you go 9, then top with the NXT tech wax. you could even top the tech wax with 26. that should be really great.

ok, so i should get the #9, the nxt (when it comes out) and then finish with #26? Can I get all these products at my local autoparts store, or do I need to order them off of the meguiar's website?

I've used the mother's clay bar. I used it when i first got the car, I haven't used it since then, but when I get the car out of storage in March, I am planning on claying the car. Before I put it into storage in October I put down 3 coats of wax (the process that i described above). So when I clay it in March, will that remove all of the wax that I just put down? I guess that will be ok, because I am planning on starting with a new product in March.

I'd definately go with the #9 or the #82 Swirl Free. I've never tried Swirl Free but supposedly its a lottle more aggressive, gets a little more done. Like Scott said you definately need something in between the #9 or #82 and the TECH wax, something like #81 like he mentioned would be great.

As for topping the TECH, I think its a little bit premature to be reccomending that, we dont even know what the finish of the TECH looks like, may not need to be topped, might really need to be topped. Gotta wait to make that call.

ok so now the routine is #9 or #82, then the NXT, then i should wait to see those results before i top it off with anything else? Thanks for all your help guys.

02 Sonic Blue- You'll have a much better idea about topping/not the NXT after you get it on there.

On clay removing wax, a lot of it has to do with HOW you clay. Claying DOES NOT remove wax to an appreciable extent for me, and I spot-clay with every wash. But the #9, etc. WILL cut off the old wax, so as long as you're doing some polishing it won't be a problem.
