Does Rain-X enhance the look of glass?

03COBRA

I miss my 03 Cobra......
I recently pickup some Rain-X at Wal-Mart. And I have used it on my 2 vehicles now and I was curious if it adds any shine to the glass. To me it looks like the glass is a little bit more reflective than just clean glass. I think I might use it as a Sealant on the paint it looks so good!:rofl J/K

I have not noticed any enhanced shine on glass. I use RAINX on my front windshield, but on my side and rear windows I use Zaino Z2, and then I QD them with Z7 after every wash (never use cleaners). The front windshield isnt as shiney, but I like the effect that rainx yields when driving in the rain. I don't recommend using it on PAINT!!!!

if i remember, when you use rain x on the glass, it adds some sort of chemical to fill in microscopic holes, and also repels water. also, it has some what of a polishing action, so i would think that it does enhance the look of glass, and from previous experiences the results seem to say the same. def don't use it on your paint as detailking said, but they do make a wax, which i hear is pretty good. i've never tried it, but it look good on my friends car.

Thanks guys, I know not to use it on paint, I was just kidding around!! Thanks for the info, now that I have seen it in the sun, it really does make the windows a little bit more glossy! And you wash the window with Z7 huh, interesting!!

If I can add a dissenting opinion, I am not a fan of Rain-X. I find durability and looks an issue.

I find Scheibenklar and WW MF and a regular wiper change is the better approach.

I like Rain-X. I think it helps in heavy ran (particularly when the car is at highway speeds). But, I don't think it does anything for looks. I certainly can't tell when it is on the car.
