If the polish or cleaner is pure, there is nothing left behind, so therefore nothing that needs to cure. It has been discussed before that products like Klasse AIO (a terrific paint cleaner) may need curing time because it contains an acrylic sealant. However, I rarely give AIO more than 15 minutes before adding a sealant/wax on top, and I've never had any issues with it. It is possible though, that the durability of AIO or perhaps even the LSP above would increase if AIO were allowed more curing time.
A lot of detailing is experimenting. Try different methods for yourself and look for differences.
