does OCW bead? i think so

My ocw finding are very good, I chose it as my go to product this past winter. With the road salt , auto -mated carwashes , and throwing a coat on about 1 a month it held up excellent IMO. Super nice product and I do feel it's last better than msot paste waxes as claimed.

Can I use the waterless wash like I would use PB Spray & Wipe. PB S&W is an excellent product , but alway's looking for something better or new to try. This S&W product's is so popular with PB,I kind of find it hard to believe that nobody has anything similar out there......Any help with this ??

I have never used the spray and wipe but I am guessing that the Opt. No Rinse is quite different. If I'm correct the s&w is more like a QD but the No Rinse is an actual wash product. I add 1oz to every gallon of water and I then place my wash mitt in the mixture and swirl it about.

I then start from the top portion of the car, say half the roof or hood, and wash the car as I would if I were using the traditional method of rinse/soap/rinse. If an area needs some extra lubrication I will first squeeze out my wash mitt over that area then place it back in the bucket and contiue washing. I wash the area lightly and then wipe dry with a waffle weave microfiber towel. In a nutshell you are flooding the designated area with the water/no rinse mixture, lightly agitating and then drying.

Does OCW contain any solvents or any cleaning agents at all? I would like to use it as a LSP over sealant but I'm hesitant because I don't want to loose any of the sealants. (AIO followed by EX-P).

Secondly, I love to hear opinions on how it compares to P21S and Souveran. I know it's a different beast but I'd still love to know!

Fallguy, have you seen Protect All's QEW or DP's 4 in 1 Rinsless wash? Same type of product as ONRW&S but IMO the Optimum leaves the surface slicker and with more gloss than the other two products. The above products are my only car washes because I am on water restriction at a townhouse with a well. They work better than PB's S&W for a full cleaning/wash. I have S&W as well but I am hesitant to use it for anything more than a "heavier" QD.

Thanks!

Eric

OCW does not contain any cleaners or solvents. Only polymers, wax and UV absorbers.

Since it contains a polymer it may not bond well over another sealant, thus you may not get the best results from an application. It was designed to be a final LSP. OCW is best topped with a carnauba paste wax.

I personally don't see a great difference from OCW and P21S or Souveran as a LSP. The latter two may provide a more "wet carnauba" look. If anything I would lay down the OCW then top it several hours later with one of those carnaubas. I am guessing that the final appearance would be beautiful!

Have you lot tried Acrylic Glanz from Sonus ? I tried some of this today, and i must admit it seems easily as good as OCW. Then theres the new? spray sealent http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-220.html which could also be worth a look.

The Acrylic Glanz though appeared to me to have all the ability of the OCW and possibly more due to it being a pure acrylic spray. Did everying i was hoping it would, went on easy came off easy and made my car really shine.

Thanks for that info Anthony. I appreciate it! I would have loved to try it over my combo now but if it may not bond properly, that shoots that down.

Slimtim, your car looks great. I got the impression that the Acrylic Glanz does not have anywhere near the longevity of OCW. It supposedly renews the Klasse shine and prolongs the life of AIO/SG but I thought it was merely a QD on "steroids" meaning it will shine more than a normal QD, add a bit of protection and last a bit longer but no where near the 3 to 4 months prople are getting out of OCW. ???

I've tried them both, and they both seem similar, the Sonus bottle though says do not use as a quick detailer.

We'll seee, but for now im sticking with the Sonus :brit

I know the wahing technique's with the optimum, but that's not what I'm asking. Can I mix this and use it as I do PB S&W ? Even as be a detailer and really into detailng I do not wash my own car's due to water problem's here. ( it's way to hard and don't deel like replumbing to get soft water outside) I alway's go to the touchless auto carwash and come home and use PB S&W and go from there. This has worked very well for me and saves me alot of time which I usually don't have and am able to keep my vehicle's looking excellent.

My understanding is you can add an ounce of ONR to your regular car wash soap to aid slickness and drying.

I am not sure if the cleaning ability of ONR when mixed at QD levels has the same cleaning power of S&W.

When you use OCW with the Optimum NR&S, are you drying while applying OCW at the same time? I find that when I do this the water makes it harder to buff the OCW off...

I detailed this Porsche Boxster on 3/8/06 and I have washed it 3 times since then but have not re-applied any more OCW on it.

This Porsche sits out in the elements all day long, 5 days a week and at home only has a car port. I washed it today and took a picture of the car after I washed it and rinsed it.

So this is the beading after 1 month and some 21 days.

I was picking up Optimum Polish, AIO, UPP, and OCW. I thought OCW would bond to UPP or any sealent, but somebody on here said it wouldn't? I've had others tell me they use it as an LSP and love it over a sealent...so I'm confused lol?

Personally, I like to use OCW as my base sealant and top with carnaubas. That way, I have a nice sealant with UV protection underneath the carnauba. I've also used OCW to buff off the final polishing step, then apply a second coat to ensure complete coverage. Basically, I get two application in just a little more time than it takes to apply one. :)
