Does Menzerna FMJ sealant have a shelf life?

I have some FMJ that has been sitting on a shelf for a couple of years.

I have a car that I used it on after doing a full correction and noticed on my next wash that the water wasn't beading or sheeting, but almost sitting on the paint as if nothing was there. I was really disappointed. Also, the car has gotten really bad water spots on the hood as well.

Do you think the FMJ may have become useless after sitting. (Of course I shook the heck out of it before using).

I wouldn't think it would have a shelf life after only a couple of years. FMJ is a very nice and easy to use product, but doesn't offer great durability. I use it a lot because it leaves behind a very nice undistorted shine, then I top with a carnauba. In many cases the carnauba will outlast the FMJ. If you shook it up very well, I don't anticipate a problem, probably just a short lived sealant during winter time.

Mine has been sitting on the shelf for about a year and a half now. It doesn't seem to be seperating too much. I just went out and shook it and it seems to look just the same. I agree that the durability isn't there, which is one of the reasons why I don't really use it. Plus if you let it sit too long, it seems to set in like concrete.

I've had mine for years also. Use it occasionally and it seems fine despite the age. I agree with the above posters about durability too. I was never impressed by it.
