Thinking about becoming a detailer and just heard about clay bar. Would you recommend any certain product? How much should you add to the price of a good detail job? Do you use a buffer on the clay to make it shine or do you hand buff it off? Thanks in advance for any advice. Howard

i dont think you know what clay really is....clay is used to remove stuck on, embedded particles that washing doesnt remove...its not used with a buffer, it doesnt shine, and it doesnt buff off....

Howard...take your time..read.. read.. read...know your products and how they work...try them out..know their limits.. work on techniques....divise a system..and then think about detailing...

If you go into this blind and decide to do some ones car..and ruin the paint ..do to lack of product knowledge..it will e an expensive lesson...

There is a ton of info here...you can search it all out...but Read ...Read...Read...

not trying to put you down...but trying to set you up on the right road...

Howard you have A LOT of reading to do. I would suggest reading David's guide to detailing first and then browsing around the forums to clarify anything you didn't understand.

I spent weeks reading and absorbing all the information to better prepare myself when I began to detail.
