Does anyone not like QEW

I'm debating using QEW. I'll have to use my garage which doesn't have a drain. How messy is this to use? Also, do you use this if the car is fairly dirty or only when it is lightly dusty.



Does anyone not like this product? Do most people use a QD after their done with the QEW.

You can use it on a clean car, or a dirt-caked, salt-covered car.



It's not very messy at all to use.



I usually spray 4-5 squirts of QD into my wash bucket, to add to the lubricity of QEW, and also to accomplish two steps at once...wash and QD.

How messy it gets is really a function of how messy your wheels and lower rocker panels are. Then you are going to splash more water on the floor. I find very little water or mess on the floor until the end when I use a lot of the mix on the wheels that tend to get dirty for me. I usually use the one bucket method of about 2 gallons. This leaves maybe half gallon of water and mess on the floor.



What you'll need to do is mop up the floor when you are done, not a big deal, but is extra time to keep your garaage floor clean.



You can always ask for a nice mop from Santa. :LOLOL



All in all something you deal with to have a clean car and garage in the Winter time. It sure beats the hose and freezing yourself outside. :bigups
 
I have just started using the stuff and love it. It was easy to use and did not make a mess at all on a moderately dirty car. I was doing my smallest car and found that 1-gallon mixed up worked well.

I also love the stuff. I even use it spring, summer and fall. I've just about given up the hose procedure.



If the car is REALLY dirty, and I plan to really soak my MF towel with QEW to the point of "dripping wet. I will lay old towels down along the wheels and rocker panels on each side of the car, then just throw them in the washer afterwards.



I've only found a need to do that for mid-winter crud. Most of the time, I wring out the MF so about half the water remains in the towel, and that minimizes the dripping.



Hints for QEW use...



1. Use 2 buckets. (one for QEW water, one to rinse your MF towel or mitt)

2. Wash from the top down.

3. Fold your MF towel in fourths, then wipe each panel once or twice, then turn your towel. This gives you 8 clean surfaces to work with.

4. Always rinse your MF or mitt in the "clear water" bucket after wiping the car. (8 passes)

5. I don't even worry about drying the car, because I always follow my wash with a QD spray. It's usually pretty dry by the time I'm finished.

6. Wash the wheels last, follow with QD or Spray wax.



I can usually do a QEW wash in about 20 minutes, then follow with a 10 minute QD.

I've got QEW just for the purpose of washing in the garage.

I still prefer washing with a hose but we do have water restrictions where I am and sometimes I've only got time to wash the car on weekends and it's raining.

If the car's really dirty I'll either go to the local car wash and rinse with their pressure hose first or spray some mix of QEW onto the car first, and then use it as the instructions say. I don't like to touch dry paint with a mitt, a bit of QEW seems to lift the dirt a bit first, and even then the garage doesn't get that wet.
 
Well I'll be d**ned. WalMart in Green Bay carries it, but that's not exactly close to me. The local one here doesn't carry it, but there's an RV store about 15 miles from here that does. I've got 7.5 bottles left yet, so I think I'm set for a while... :)

lol! Sounds like you're set for a while. So I assume you like the product!? Glad to hear, since I have been a little concerned that it may marr my finish.



Yeah, there are several Walmarts near me that carry it, and if they don't I have about 4 RV centers that do. I'll post up whatever I found in here tomorrow.
 
Yes I like it very much! I live in an apartment, so this is the only way to wash my car, short of taking it to a car wash. I don't mind it at all. I can sit in the garage with the radio on, and the cold doesn't bother me a bit.
 
I could not live without QEW. I use it during all seasons, but my car never really gets caked with anything. I agree with everything that has been recommended... two buckets, qd, etc. I do a section at a time (hood, fender, door, etc.) and after the initial pass with the QEW'd mitt, I spritz a liberal amount of qd (I prefer Adam's Detail Spray for this) and gently wipe dry with a WW.



My local Wal-Mart carries QEW.
