Does anyone have issues with Megs 101 filling?

Can't believe any compound would use fillers. A compound is used to remove defects not hide them. But from another web-site I just visited it stated that #101 is body shop safe, paintable and uses no fillers.

To be sure I would call Mequiars on MON and ask them directly.

In some cases filling can be a result of the lubricating oils in the polish. One if Menzerna's polishes had a bad reputation for that. I forget which on and not even sure if Menzerna even still makes it.

bert31- That was the 106FF.  I can personally attest to Menzerna's PO106FF doing some pretty significant filling; once the oils dissipated (which did not compromise the LSP on top either) I saw downright *hideous* marring that had been completely concealed.

yeah 106 fills a bit...good for the cheapie one step jobs where someone wants its done fast and doesnt care about correction....very good gloss

Can't say I've heard that about M101, but anything is possible. How long are you working the product, and with what tool/pad?

Envious Eric- The other variation of 106 (forget the alpha suffix...) that's sold under the BlackFire label didn't conceal like the FF did for some reason.

Yeah, that was a really unpleasant surprise!

As far as M101 filling, no idea since I've been happy enough with M100 that paying double for M101 it tough to swallow. But I think that if you don't work a product properly and fail to fully remove the residue, anything has the ability to fill.

Thanks everyone.  I was using M101 on a polishing pad with the expectation being to only eliminate light swirls and greatly improve the harsher marring but it was wiping out all marring in my test spot and left the surface looking really good for such a heavy compound.  My original assumption was that filling HAD to be occurring somehow.  But, that was about a week ago and the marring is still gone and the paint still looks great even though I haven't moved on to my lighter polish.  Also, while using two days ago, I noticed a section with marring worse than my test spot so I went over it.  When it almost cleaned up the marring but did not remove it, I felt pretty confident it was not filling.

I am really liking 101.  I am almost glad a friend I lent my 105 to ruined the product some how and forced me to give the 101 a try.  Not sure how my friend ruined the 105 but when you look in the bottle, it looks like a white blob floating in whole milk.  He says he didn't leave it in the sun but, he did something.  Oh well, the better performance of 101 more than makes up for the loss of 105.  People tell me I should try M100 but I am not sure what M100 would do that I could not do with M101 on a lighter pad?
