Dodo Juice USA Website Is Up & Running - The Dodo Has Landed

TH0001,

If you have a financial interest in this product (as the paragraph below taken from the website seems to indicate), you're walking a *very* thin line.

Todd Helme - Todd's big dodo brain is filled with pictures of high horsepower muscle cars and with lurid thoughts about how to bring a shine to paintwork. He tests the products and is the all around guru and know-it-all when it comes to the entire Dodo Juice product line. He is also the main customer service dodo dude.If you have a question about the products or how to use them, then Todd will use his world-renowned detailing experience to guide you carefully through the process.

All forum members are subject to our commercial posting policies. If you want to act as a customer service rep for Dodo, you and Daniel need to consider sponsoring your own forum. Offering advice on a product that you make money from in the general forums? That's spam. Defending your product from detractors? Also spam. As long as you have financial interest in the product, you aren't going to have much freedom to talk about it in the open forums.

Looks like a good competitor for Souveran, etc.. Just once I'd like to have someone announce a product that provides that look for us poor saps that have light colored cars. Picture below is a little dark. Have been using Werkstatt products (stuck on the Trigger for awhile now). Can't seem to get that deep mirror look, but I do get the shiny, light reflecting look. Wondering what this product will do... Always looking for something better but I hate to redo that 20 layers of Trigger!

Yeah, I caught that last night when I finally decided to pay a visit to the site since the Dodo Juice website thread had been posted here on Autopia and over on Bimmerforums in the detailing section.

All the same, best of luck to Todd. Unquestionable detailing skills. Sad to see he'll have to moderate himself when it comes to posting. But that's what comes with the commercial interest I suppose.

Still hope we can look forward to his helpful and informative Click and Brags. I really enjoyed his Lamborghini write up.

Mine arrived Friday (Rainforest Rub) and I also have some SN on the way. I'm real curious how it will look on JetStream Blue :xyxthumbs

This is what I am starting with:

Just to clarify (so nobody thinks I was pulling a fast one) I am involved with DJUSA, as setting up there DAD program. As it stands, I have no financial interest in the product (yet) but using that excuse would be splitting hairs. I have been trying to be completely honest (hence my signature) with my involvement because the last thing I want is my integrity questioned.

I have tried to be careful regarding this entire thread as I understand that my answers should be under scrutiny, since my interest (financial or not) exists in the bettering of the company. I have only tried to explain picture who picture taking (weather good or bad) is more a result of the photographer and NO product should be judged on that. And I showed how little product is used.

However, even defending the product (indirectly) can be viewed as spam, as Tort explained to me. Many people and vendors pay money to be able to sell there products here so I understand protecting them and the site (imagine if anybody was allowed to post about their own product, how quickly the information on this site would become advertisements). The rules are strict (and I didn't fully understand them) but they are here for the good of the forum.

That said, my posts regarding products (at least LSP based products), as you said have to be moderated, and understandably. I will still help anybody who needs help machine polishing (which is the most important step in detailing and will always be) and offer any advice I can. For obvious reasons I cannot post on this thread (or other's in similar nature) anymore!

Todd

PS, thank you very much for your kind words regarding my detailing. If you read the Lambo thread, you would probably think I had a relationship with Danase' Wet Glaze (vs any other product on that thread) because that stuff rocks, I didn't have anything bad to say about it and am still blown away by it. Amazing product!

Todd,

Thanks for understanding. I don't think you need to stop speaking about LSPs in general (please don't!), but you will need to take care when it comes to the topic of Dodo, just as Daniel will.

And for the love of all things abrasive, don't stop posting reviews of polishes . . . in the grand scheme of things, I'd much rather have an awesome polish and a mediocre LSP than vice-versa.

I'm thinking I will hit it with Menz 85RD and then SN and maybe the Rainforest Rub over that. Any suggestions ?

I spent 8 hours detailing my Silverado yesterday, Zaino Triplets, and am helping a friend do a White 1993 Volvo (his mothers car) tomorrow so this may have to wait a week while I rest my back up :2thumbs:

I decided to throw a quick coat of Rainforest Rub on today, I like the results, I would have taken more pictures but I was running out of light.
