DoDo Born Slippy Clay lube questions

Ive been wanting to try this product and know several people really like it.

What does it smell like, and is it strong smelling?

Ive heard it completely washes off ,is that correct?

Also read it dilutes 1:10...........is that a good dilution ratio?

It is one of my favorite clay lubes out there as far as using it goes. My only issue is that it must be rinsed off, and not just wiped off like some other lubes. Usually this isn't an issue, but sometimes I don't want to have to rinse a whole car down after claying. Other than that it may be the best lube out there IMO. The smell is pleasant, like all dodo products, and it has a very high dilution ration.

What happens if you just wipe it off?

Can you describe the smell at all?Is it mild or strong?

I also have been using this product and its been the best for me. Its orange in color and maybe smells like orange kool-aid used to smell.. Not overwhelming, sticky, etc..
I never rinse it off, just wipe down, and get right to paint correction. Never had any issues with it at that stage either. In the sun as rare as it is up here, it looks like it gives you that slight rainbow effect when its on the paint, but it doesnt seem to stay there for me after Im done claying and wiping if off.
The bottle says that its 250 milliliters and it will make 2.5 Litres.
This is my go to claybar lube from now on.

Lets just say that if you would mix it with vodka, it would prolly taste delicious!

I wipe it off with a damp MF then follow with a dry MF. It has cleaners in it that on top of removing the above surface bonded contamination from claying, will break up some of the embedded dirt in you paint also. Great clay lube IMO
 
Good lubricity, but leaves behind a soapy residue that must be rinsed off. NO THANK YOU!! :D
 
Hmm... I usually do a rinse or re-wash between claying and LSP. This my be an option. But as of now I am using ONR.

Perhaps you are mixing it stronger than I do and that would make it more slippery, etc., and if you have soft water, well then for sure, its going to be even more slippery, etc..

I dont have any rinse issues with it and our water is relatively mineral free up here in the Nortbwest..

We have pretty hard water here . I wonder if I should mix it with distilled water.

I use distilled water and am happy with that.

As far as scent, it isn't straight orange/tangerine - there is a floral component to it, too. But, even undiluted, it is rather light.

Now Ive read it may be better to use tap water to decrease the suds.

I guess I will have to try it both ways and see what i like best.

I hope I like the scent !

I never get suds with it, I use water from the tap, we have hardly any minerals in our water up here, so it could be considered on the softer side but without the sodium used to soften water in that tank in people's garages..
No suds, just a nice spray of liquid, very easy to clay with.

I get a little foam with it, nothing major. I diluted it with distilled water. This has not been issue with me at all. It's the best Clay Lube I have used. I wipe it off and go straight to polishing with out rinsing.
 
I think at leasr a rinseless wash is in order after claying. You're removing bonded contaminants from the clear coat. I don't feel that just wiping will lift all the loose contamiants off the paint. You need a CLEAN surface when polishing, otherwise, you greatly increase the chance of marring the paint.
 
Thanks everyone for posting your different methods of using born slippy.

I wont be polishing and moving along to OCW right after so my guess is I will want it sqeaky clean so it wont cause any streaks or bonding issues.

As usual with any new product I will have to experiment and find what works best for my needs.
