...Dreaming on an E92....
My sister caught the fence in her yard Wednesday afternoon while pulling into the driveway. When she told me it took out a chunk of the post I feared for the worst. She brought the truck by yesterday and let me examine the damage, to my amasement there was more paint transfer than anything
After hitting the section with some Lacquer Thinner there was a small scratch and miinimal hazing.
I know the rule of thumb is to start with the least abrasive pad/polish combo you can, but I ruled that out for this one. My first pass was with Optimum Hyper Compound and an Edge black wool pad at 1800 RPM's. I think a less aggresive combo would have handled the defect just as well but I knew this combo would work so I jumped right on it. Second pass was with an Edge green foam polishing pad and HC mixed 50/50 with P&S Ultracoat Polish, speed unchanged.. My final pass was with Ultracoat via Edge Blue wave pad at 1400 RPM's. Trim was dressed with P&S Wipe N Shine
Voila, no more defect!
All that's left is for the PDR guy downtown to remove the body damage, then a full detail will be done in this dirty rig.
