I usually wear my headset/earphones when i know that the customer has the tendency to ask too much or something... it really works, if you're listening to something, they usually won't bother asking you anything coz you won't be able to hear them unless they tap you or something, and most people just dont do that...

Even though I am mobile, I do the same thing. Especially this time of year when the days are shorter, I don't have much time for chit-chat when working.

Of course, these are your customer's....and they deserve the upmost respect and attention. But, in my opinion, I really don't think it is a good idea for a customer to ask questions or attempt to conversate while a detailer is working. Detailing is like an art, and an artist needs concentration, and comfort. I would never dream of interfering with Picasso while he was working on one of his masterpieces. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the customer asking questions and conversating before and after the work is done....just not during the process. :xyxthumbs

we have a lot of customers that are willing to wait BESIDE THEIR CARS the whole day (8am to 6pm) hehe... quite annoying coz when you need to talk to another inquiring customer or answer the phone call, they'll be like looking at you... "where's he going?"

i respect my customer's right to look at their cars as we work, but we have a windowed a/c'd lounge for them to do that, not behind our backs...
