If so did you just throw one together or use a program to make them look professional? Did you include every single thing you do on them?

Thanks

You can make a checklist in Microsoft Excel and import a couple of graphics to jazz it up.

I mostly do friends of the family and neighbors on a regular basis to make some cash on the side, so I don't use a checklist.

However, when I get referred to someone I don't know, I use a checklist with a disclaimer that I have them sign.

But, I've NEVER had an issue.

I have gone to a few detailing places over the years and have seen check lists at all of them.

SEARCH :) (just search for my user name if you dont feel like digging through tons of threads), but this has been covered a ton of times. You will find a form that i "created" in excel. it is free to download

tpgsr,

That's an EXCELlent spreadsheet you created ... sorry for the pun.

I'm lookng for an enclusive checklist of detailing task (to make sure you don't forget things like door jams) and the order each is performed by professionals.

NHBFAN, i need one of those too, so i will start work on it possibly tonight, i will post up a draft copy for all to add/edit Sound good?

Would any Pro mind posting his check list and what order you perform each task?

Here's my basic checklist.

1- Wash

2- Wash, Clean Tires & Wheels

3- Polish, Wax By Hand

4- Clean, Polish, Wax Chrome

5- Remove Road Tar

6- Apply Exterior Trim Protectant

7- Clean, Wax Door Jambs

8- Clean, Protect Interior, Upolstery

9- Clean, Vacuum, Protect Carpets

10- Clean, Vacuum Trunk

11- Apply Interior Protectant

12- Clean Windows, Mirrors

I do not use a checklist. I've been taught the concept of process and procedure. Do it the same way, everytime. After the first 100 cars, you don't 'forget' things. Plus, if you get interupted, it is easy to go right back to the process and procedure.

If/As I begin to expand and work with assistants, I suppose a checklist is in order.

Hope this doesn't come off as arrogant, I just feel that repetition is the order of the day.

I am working on using excel, and keep telling myself I need to finish. The list has 190 items, which is more of A to Z process, then a final checklist. Final things I check for are, completed wax removal, check body seams, check for streaks on glass, check to make sure tires, plastic, and viynl are dressed and have an even apparence.
