Do you all clean new pads before use?

I've got some of the LC CCS pads, and they are sealed in plastic from LC. Would it be a good idea to thoroughly clean these pads out before their first use? What process do you all use for new pads?

I never "clean" my pad any leftover compund with dirt in it can scratch paint so I buy pads in bulk from Megs or what ever my local paint store has.

if you are going through pads one per car, you are wasting a lot of money...



toss them in the washer, or hand wash the pads with something like dawn or APC and they are good as new!!! I have about 40 cars on some of my pads and they are starting to show signs of wear and tear, so those are about to go...

buy some dawn power dissolver (haven't found anything that cleans pads better). spray onto pad, let it sit for around 10-15 minutes, and then massage/rinse under running water (no need to put them in the washer and waste water). good as new...

Best otc pad cleaner out there and smells great.

not that they are extremly dirty but they do get torn up and well detoryed I got one from the F-150 I did and its well trash.:nomore:

yeah, thats user error not the pads fault, especially after one use....



looks like you were applying too much pressure, or polishing on a sharp edge and it was getting chewed up...
