Do all tire shine products stain concrete?

After reading all the great ideas about using tire shine in wheelwells,I've decided to give it a try. However,I'm concerned about staining my driveway. My NEW driveway. Thanks for any input.

Every single stinking one has stained the drive way. You should see the front of my house, it pisses the neighbors off something fierce but its not illegal!

yup I got the wheel wash from TOL. It does a wonderfull job cleaning the wheels, but I was pissed because it did staing my cement driveway. I am thinking should I have rinse the cement as I was washing wheel it may have been better.

The interesting thing is that I used Meg's Wheel Brightener and it did not stain. Maybe it is the way I did it.

Cheers

Nick

I keep the driveway wet (rinse before washing) and the helps to some degree....but brake dust just detroyed my front driveway....I am thinking I need to get a pressure washing and a scrub broom to clean it up

I made something similar to that driveway mat out of corrugated cardboard. When it starts looking REALLY gross, I just throw it away and make another one. I'd prefer that over buying that plastic driveway mat and having it clean it up every now and then.

Also be careful if you go to home depot and get their Zep drive way cleaner. It is the toughest stuff I have used, not only did it clean the drive way it burnt my leg.

I sealed the detailing area of my driveway with UGL clear concrete sealer. [Home Depot] It does a very good job of keeping stains from soaking in. Lasts for years.

I think water-based tire dressings don't stain.

All tire dressings stain, including water-based ones. And all of them wash away eventually, too. Try applying them on wet pavement/ concrete and they won't show so much.

I do the top half of the tires, then move the car a little and then do the other half. Solves that problem and ensures even coverage that can be a PITA on the very bottom :)

I personally thought about spraying down the whole driveway to match. It repels the water something fierce whenever it rains or I wash the car. You can only see it when it rains.

Try something that's in a Gel formula so that nothing runs onto the concrete. Meg's Endurance is one choice.

Check out Driveway Mate at www.drivewaymate.com

The Driveway Mate was specifically designed to prevent stains from detailing overspray by protecting the surface on which the vehicle is parked.

The product is easy to use and allows you to clean your tires in your own driveway without staining your driveway.

You will clean your tires quicker and get a way better shine.

You no longer have to pull your car into the street, spray the tire shine on a rag (your hands will be greasy for days after) or clean your tires outside the store.
