Disappointing products

Wolfgang Instant Detail Spray - Insanely expensive and very average performance compared to OID or FK425

CG Jet Seal 109 - more $ than BFWD and not nearly as good IMO

Back 2 Black - Dust Magnet and doesnt last

That and their QWIK wax were uber fails. What exactly was shorter about using either of those than doing a coat of regular wax. I just don't understand the WOWO spray waxes.

The UQW seems to restore slickness and gloss in about 10 minutes and also does a great job on my vinyl exterior trim, even the textured trim. It doesn't need to haze and it doesn't leave any dust or streaks. I can go over the car much faster than using a regular sealant. I use it as a quick maintenance product. I don't need to be careful around trim or emblems. It even adds a RainX like effect to glass.



Their NXT spray wax, OTOH, was a PITA to apply evenly and needed to set before removal. For that product a regular wax would be just as fast.

Same here. I don't think Zaino in general lives up to the hype, but honestly, I don't think anything can.



Not a huge fan of American Buffing white foamed wool pads either. No more cut than Meguiars burgandy cutting pad and it holograms and sheds like crazy.
 
I hate to say it, but RainX with the trigger was terrible!



The fact that smearing ruins visibility and its easy to get very similar results with a sealant on your windows.



Also Meguiars Leather cleaner/conditioner- Left the leather glossy... greasy and slippery as hell! Did nothing to enhance the feel of the leather.



Simoniz Wash and Wax- got it for $4 (64oz) even then its not worth it. 2oz per gallon and does nothing to help existing wax, it actually ruins it.

Actually anything Simoniz is garbage!
 
Well from what I come to, most of the Meguiar's products you'll find at auto parts store are junk and Simoniz blows...



Anyone had any problems with Sonus products?

85rd always finishes off perfect on jet black BMW paint. You just have to make sure there is no residue on the car before. :2thumbs:

Meguiars retail level products are designed to be used by hand and to be bubba proof. Some of the OTC stuff like #26 work great, but I agree, most of the rest is pretty average.

Yeah, the price of some of them, and the very specific application instructions.



The polishes are a bit weak(SFX-1, SFX-2), but I always turn to SFX-3 to finish, it just works so well with a DA on a properly prepared surface.



The concentrated Sonus APC is also somewhat weak, even when using it at full concentration.





The trim kote is also finicky to put on and sometimes leaves a blue filmy residue on plastics. If I remember correctly the bottle said something about a "Wax for plastics."



Other than that, I love the Sonus lines.

The consumer line cleaner/polishes can be used by D.A and by hand. They make some pretty good cleaner waxes as well. ColorX, M20 Polymer Sealant, M06, and A12.
 
DG 105 and DG AW. Durability was horrible in my experience. I can only see this combo lasting a while with frequent applications of AW.



Also Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. I dislike products that are difficult to apply and use - this one one of them.

I'd say Megs OTC stuff is the best OTC stuff out there. Ultimate Compound, Swirlx, NXT, ColorX, QID, UQW are all class leaders. Sure there is better stuff out there for mail order,but for being off the shelf available everywhere, tough to beat.
 
While I won't say I'm completely and utterly disappointed with it, I will say that I cannot get the same results using Spray & Rinse that most other people seem/claim to get.



Did not like Finish Kare's Pink Wax or the Concentrated Shampoo.
 
I should also add that I dislike any wax or paint sealant offered by 3M. Application and removal is a pain and durabilty was horrible.



And another swirl filler for body shops is 3M Imperial Hand Glaze.

I am suprised to see this one on here. I love this product. It was never hard to apply and use.
