Dirty Cloths: Wash together?

As I mentioned here a few years prior, I don't launder wax/polish/APC towels in the same machines that I wash my clothes in..

Yeah, I use a dedicated washer/dryer setup too (it's in the shop). I did use the household one for years, but cleaning out the washer's tub/basket all the time got me thinking...

i wash two different loads. one will be my good mf's (used on paint, glass, etc) and the other would be the grunge towels (jams, wheels/wells, engine, etc)...

I do the same in MF cleaner - although I'm thinking now that perhaps my window MFs should be separated. evenflow - how do you keep track of which MFs are used for what to avoid cross-contamination with so many separate washes?

I wash them all in the same load, unless i feel like the door jamb towels and wheel towels are too dirty to stick in the same loads(ex. after work truck details.) Normally I stick them all in on a 25min soak with hot water and small amount of tide concentrate, then I put them on a "timed" wash for around 55min with multiple soaks and rinses. All on hot water. When all that is done, I run them through another soak/rinse cycle to make sure there is no soap left(15 min with hot water).

dmw2692004- Heh heh, my presoak/prewesh/wash/rinse cycles can be even more extreme than yours :o

I keep an eye on things during the final rinse, and just rewash (no detergent)/rinse over and over until there's no sign of any sudsing. Then one more rinse just to be sure.

wash the detail towels in 1, and take all greasy/oily rags to a laundromat and wash there, no need to dirty your own washer up for future loads to be killed
