Different Wax from Same Company...Pinnacle??

souveran is nice if you want to toss on a nice coat of wax for the week.or a car show .. its great. takes me 15 min to wax my truck . and its relaxing

Last I checked, my WM still had several pots of this @ $20. I'd be glad to do the leg work for a fellow member if they handled the cost and shipping.

I've heard nothing but outstanding comments about Souveran...except for its durability, or lack there of.

I drive a black car in Florida so I know what you mean about durability.

A pure carnauba wax, like Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax provides a show car, glossy finish. Like you mentioned, many of the comments are outstanding when reviewing Souveran Paste Wax based on what Souveran is designed to do.

For durability, sealants are designed to last longer than a wax but they do not offer that same deep carnauba shine. Some come close and look great yet there is nothing like the look of a Souveran Paste Wax on a dark colored car.

There are many variables when it comes to durability as well.

  • The condition of the paint. Wax lasts longer on clean, smooth paint.
  • The prep work before applying the wax. Claying and polishing to create a smooth finish.
  • The car wash shampoo that you use needs to be pH balanced.
  • The hardness of the water during the wash and rinse. Hard water can leave behind mineral deposits that diminish slickness and beading.
  • Is a detail spray being used to help remove mineral deposits, dust, smudges etc to restore slickness?
  • Environmental contaminants, pollen in particular, can reduce the lifespan of the wax.
  • Garage kept vs parked outside. UV, dew, rain, bird droppings, industrial fallout can all come into play as well. Great reason to use a car cover.

A pure paste wax can last up to 3 months, more or less depending on conditions. If longer durability is desired, a paint sealant can be used and of course you can get the best of both worlds by applying a sealant first and then applying a carnauba wax as a topper.

Hope this helps!

Love everything about Souveran except its durability. That said there are other products that look just as good as PS and have far better durability. Not to mention the looks are 85% prep and 15% LSP at best. JMHO
I would love to know what wax will be more durable and look as good as Souveran? Because I haven't seen a wax that have the depth and the reflection in 3 dimension look.

Just my opinion, but M26 looks just as good as Souveran and is more durable, but you take a hit in the "ease of application" factor.

Is this wax better with dark or light color car?

I've only tried on dark color cars, it gives a glow like Souveran, it is a really nice wax. Very easy to use. I have had it on for about 2 weeks and it's going strong.
