Difference between P21S gel and reg wheel cleaner?

What are the differences between P21S Gel and regular wheel cleaner? From reading the reviews, I understand that the gel sticks to the wheel surface longer, but is that where the differences end? Can both be left on the wheels for extended periods of time? What about performance and cost?

Thanks!

I havent used P21S gel cleaner, but i have used pinnacles. As you said, the gel formula allows the cleaner to stay on the wheel for a longer period of time. This makes removing brake dust that much more easier. I wouldn't leave any wheel cleaner on the wheel for a longer period of time than is usually needed to clean the wheel (about a minute for me). Your not supposed to let the stuff dry on the wheel. I would personally just get a regular wheel cleaner, or better yet, seal your wheels and use your wash bucket soap :spot

The gel has dwell! If you are cleaning hideous wheels, the gel is your friend. If you are dealing with wheels that are cleaned frequently, you won't need the gel's extra punch (or expense).

YMMV

My bottle of regular P21 says to spray it on, and "no waiting time is required" while the gel says you can leave it on for "15 minutes to 2 hours". Does that mean that you can't leave the regular liquid sit on the wheel? I dunno. I have a really old bottle of gel that is almost used up, and it never seemed to really be any thicker than the regular spray; I'm waiting to see if the new bottle seems thicker.

I've found the special sprayer from the SONAX wheel cleaner bottles works really well with the gel.
