Difference between Menzerna Super IP and Power Gloss

Totally different products.

SIP was made for cars with ceramic clear coats where as power gloss is a heavy duty cutter for regular clear coats.

Now you can use either one on either type of clear coat. The SIP has a greater level of smaller sharper more refined abrasives in it to penetrate the ceramic clear coat which is VERY hard. This allows you to cut very fast and finish out ready for your LSP or very close to it depending on how things look.

Power gloss you WILL have to use an additional step of polishing afterwards as it will leave behind haze. It is just meant to cut deep defects, then you follow up with something like IP and then FP.

I have both I have used both. After learning SIP and 106FF the other ceramic clear coat polish I will not use anything else. They both finish down so fine and virtually no dust.

IP is ok but after using SIP, I couldnt see going back to IP.

Also, you will not get much for results with power gloss unless you are using a rotary.

Hope this helps.

Never use any of the Menzerna line with a PC. I've always used a rotory. If I did not get the results I wanted , I'd give it another pass. Maybe two! Before stepping up to the next pad. JMO:buffing:

You can't simply use that chart and the prices to determine the differences.

Uhhhh, that's why I asked

IP can finish down nicely on PC/rotary fine. But SIP won't finish down as "nicely" on a PC as it would on a rotary.

SIP still finishes nicer than IP on a PC. I had to clean up the IP with a finishing polish but with SIP there was no micro marring or hazing.

Sorry fly bye i though you were quoting the OP. The price difference is more than justified once you've used both products. I was excited just to get rid of the dust problems i had with IP once i switched to SIP.

Thats exactly why its worth the money. I am going to buy a gallon of it next spring. Plus it finishes LSP ready.

I am considering purchasing SIP, but I use a PC. Seems like there is a difference of opinion on whether the SIP will work well with the PC?

What pad should be used with the SIP and PC combo?
