Difference between both Optimum compounds

Aside from longer working time and slightly more cut with OC then OHC, any real difference with these two. Thinking about getting 8oz of both. How are they compared to SIP/PG, and 105/205?

I have used OC/OHC. The OHC will have a little longer worktime and cut a little more. They are very rotary friendly as the finish wet ( they never really dust/dry out).



By PC they take forever to completely break down, and *I* can't get as good of a finish out of Opt. lineup with a PC.



The newest/greatest Megs twins reportedly work really well with a PC/DA.
 
Which do you prefer for medium swirls? Already use 105, looking for something in the middle of 105 and a finisher, seeing if this is worth the try?

I use OP/OC/OHC with a rotary and on med/soft paint. I like them because they finish while still wet, they really never dry out or dust.



Most light-med marring polishes out with 1 or 2 passes of OP and a LC white pad. For med-deep marring OHC on an orange pad cuts enough for *my* situations. OC is in the middle, I usually use it with a white pad to remove wool/compounding marks before final polishing.



I have tried them with a PC and was not as happy with them. They lose a lot of their cut, and work forever to break them down properly.





If you have 105 why not get 205? I have read that a few members have been using 205 and an orange pad and a DA/PC to clean up compound haze from 105. Then move on to a wh/gr/bl/etc. pad to finish.

I have the entire Menz line, 105 and 205. I was just wanting to see if the Optimum line was good, due to its working time. Just looking to have every option available to me as I am now doing customers and not just my own car.
 
im using the optimum line with my PC and i personaly find it only yeilds good results on select cars. iv had good results on subarus and hyundais, but terrible results on an infiniti, toyota, and kia. it was next to impossible to get anything but superficial swirls out.



however, iv heard optimum's stuff is great with a straight up rotary.

It will give good results, but it takes longer. I get better results with a rotary.
 
i did about an hour on a quater of a hood on that infiniti i mentioned and barely touched the RIDS. yellow pad with OHC, may passes, many pressures and techniques. i think that was long enough, haha.

Improved how?



I actually like how they work as of now. I suppose the compound and hyper could use a little more cut. I use OP to do my clean up polishing on my cars/trucks now. I can clean up most, if not all, of my marring in one pass with a rotary. :spot
 
I would sometimes say that hyper compound is a little misleading. I have used OHC as a single correction step and followed up with an abrasive AIO then topped with LSP. I really do still like OHC and the new OPT polishes.
 
With its long working time, how is is on softer paints? Specifically OHC? Also, how would you match it up to the Menz or Megs line?
