Did I do Zaino right?

First, let me say that this site has been invaluable. Although this is the first time I have posted, Autopia is what finally convinced me to try Zaino.



Here's my question: In doing the Dawn Wash, I couldn't seem to get the water to stop beading up. Is that okay? I went ahead and did 1 coat of Z1/Z2 anyway, and the finish seems lots slicker than before. Bugs remove fairly easily using a little Quick Detailer.



Did I screw up the application? Is there still inferior product layered underneath the Zaino?
 
I’ve seen it act both ways on paint I know is void of any wax or sealant. Sometimes freshly polished/compounded paint will just bead instead of sheet.
