Did CMA mess up??

I have ordered from CMA several times and this time the only thing different that i ordered was one thing of S100. When I got my package it had the S100 with the included grey applicator in the s100 plus a small yellow foam application that looked like i mini-meguiars one. Did they just throw in a few one for no reason? This is the first time they have done this. Just wondering

You got a little freebie. When I ordered a wax and Wenol metal polish from the Autopia store, DavidB slipped in a Viking Hand Grip Applicator for free.

Some places do that. It's to their benefit. It pleases the customer. And, it's no skin off their back.

It's the classic infomercial tactic. You know, when the announcer says...

"That's not all! With your order of these 83 Ginsu knives, you'll receive a wad of toilet paper and a vegetable pealer at NO EXTRA CHARGE. Normally a $97 value...YOURS free!!"

That ususally seals the deal for the American consumer.

I've placed several orders with CMA and whenever the order was relatively large, I would include a note in the comments section saying that it would be great if they could throw in a few applicators. It never worked. I guess the key is to NOT say anything. :)

:lol They're punishing you for trying to mooch! :D

I recently placed my first order with them and I got a free MF applicator included - good business tactic on their part :) My oder was a bit over $100, and they included ~$1.50 of free product - and in the meantime, guaranteeing that I'll be ordering from them again :)

Funny, I recently ordered a couple of bottles from Pinnacle and they sent a small bottle of Pinnacle shampoo. It's like the size of a hotel bottle of shampoo. LOL !!

IMHO, for the beginer detailer buying his supplies, CMA seems like the greatest place in the world.

In reality, many other places offer the exact same product at cheaper prices, much more reasonable shipping rates, same level of customer service, monthly discount codes and routine freebies.

I think many here would agree.

I haven't been back to them in a while.

I just ordered PUPP and Poorboy's EX from www.premiumautocare.com and I received:

1 PUPP

1 Poorboy's EX

2 foam applicator pads

2 Soft Touch Microfiber towels.

Needless to say, I'm gonna give them my repeat business. Spilchy, I hear ya about CMA. As I look around at different places, I see what you mean more and more.

i also ordered there earlier and i orders DACP, 1 pad and a brush. i didnt get any extras from premiumautocare i guess its the luck of the draw.

But do they sponsor Autopia?

It rather nice of them (CMA) to help sponsor this forum so that people who are crazy about detailing can express themselves in a friendly environment. What I have learned here over the last fews years far out-weights the slight price difference between CMA and its competitors. :xyxthumbs

If you feel like being raked over the coals by paying inflated shipping prices and merchandise prices, so be it. I help sponsor Autopia by being a contributing member and shoping in the Autopia store where prices are comparable and shipping rates are EXCELLENT.

I'm talking more for the working man where an extra $10 - $15 per order means more money in their wallet in a tight economy.

I appreciate their sponsorship, but when it comes down to it, money talks - saving money for that matter.

No flame war - I appreciate and understand your view point but humbly disagree to an extent.

Yeah, that list of superior vendors would be nice to see - CMA did me right. There was a problem with my order, but they let me know what the issue was, they corrected it, and they threw in a minor bonus for me.

As far as I'm concerned - the measure of a business is not how they handle a standard customer, but how they handle a problem. CMA did right, as far as I'm concerned.
