Diamond Shield Vs Wax

Sounds like a huge joke to me. Real detailing products do not come from 'as seen on TV' marketing sites.

Their logic about wax ruining paint is completely wrong unless you constantly wax using heavy compounds and a rotary buffer.

That site is complete fraud, their claims of modern clearcoat safe waxes containing abrasives is utterly rediculous.

If you're looking for the kind of long term protection they puport to offer, Zaino or FK2180 should offer 6+ month protection. Not sure if anything out there will last a year under less than perfect conditions.

Thanks for your inputs. I came across this product not only on that website i also met them in the motorshow. They claim its a 30 year old technology from UK. So i was quite sceptical when they guranteed for 6 years i dont have to polish or wax my car.

Cheers

Gee, why would you be skeptical???

:rofl

I'll bet they carefully avoided ever actually using the word "guarantee".

It's really up to you if you want to go in that direction. I and most if not all say stay away, go with the proven products for durability: Zaino, AJ, Klasse SG, RDF #49.

Here it is, their out:

Q: How long will the process last?

A: On the internal fabric and exterior paint work there is a six-year guarantee. However the Diamondbrite can go on protecting long after this time has elapsed. As long as the monthly applications of Diamondbrite Conserver are maintained the process will continue to give the high luster finish to you car.

Want to make a bet you miss these monthly applications the guarantee is null and void?

You going to apply their 'conserv' every single month?

How about this? You really going to take it back to the dealer each year to have the finish inspected (6 opportunities for them to say you did something to void their guarantee, by the way) and your paperwork stamped?

Q: Where do I take my car for its yearly inspection? What will be the cost?

A: You should take your car back to the Diamondbrite dealership or valeter that originally applied the process. Hopefully you can combine this with a service or MOT that you are already taking your car in for. It is a simple check on the paintwork and fabric to independently verify that the Diamondbrite protection is in good condition; they will then stamp or sign your guarantee. The cost of this is decided by the dealer but is often incorporated into a normal service or the price of an aftercare kit, which you should need new stocks of around this time.

Sorry, but this is not a single application is good for 6 years product. Monthly maintenance and yearly inspection? Ha! You go for this and you are being taken to the cleaners, my friend.

Besides, a modern clear coat paint job with minimal care (regular washing) is still going to look pretty good to the average person after six years-assuming the average person still has that car 6 years after purchase. In addition, the degredation of the appearance over 6 years is so slow that the typical person won't notice the change.

My guarantee is that if you put a 'Diamondbrite' treated car at the 6 year point next to another 6 year old car that has been regularly (and properly) polished and waxed, the 'Diamondbrite' car will not look nearly as good.
