DG Aquawas vs EO Nano Spray Wax

I'd be interested in anyone with comparisons of these two. I love my AW on the two Caddys, but no one around here carries it OTC. Is the EO spray wax a viable alternative? I know the EO is carnuba based vs all synthetic for the AW, but other than that I'm your typical clueless newbie. Everybody and their uncle has EO on the shelves around here... and I can't seem to convince the local NAPA to get Duragloss back on their shelves.

Thanks for any responses.

I have used both. I feel that the Eagle One Product is very short-lived as compared to the AquaWax. To me Eagle One WAUD is a one week at best where Duragloss will last a couple. Mind you both products are very easy and both enhance the appearance which is really what you want.

eagle 1 is a nice product...but the longevity is short...I have seen on other forums where some used eagle1 first.. as it has some swirl hiding properties..thats eagle1's claim anyways..and then use Aquawax to sorta lock it in...

they claim after rain and some washes it still looked good..who knows...

Jim..did you go to Duragloss page and check the locator page ..other parts stores carry it or can get it for you....so far people have had good luck with carquest....

I have a area on my truck that was done first week of may..have not touched it yet .to test durability..and it is still beading and shine..not as slick as when new..but some slickness remains..and we have had lots of rain

Here in Salem there ain't much - The nearest Carquest is 20 miles away in Vineland, the next nearest NAPA is over the DMB in Newark. I've also stopped in about half a dozen "no-name" auto parts stores here and in Pennsville, etc. If it ain't made for a pickup or a tractor, most stores around here don't carry it...now, if you want a good deal on trailer hitch polish, or Kenworth-style exhaust stacks for your F150, we got ya covered....

The durability of AW has been great for me so far. Been about a month since I last applied the AW and I have been on a 1,700+ mile vacation to Orlando (and got caught in the Alberto rains) since then, plus lots of rain and harsh/hot UV conditions. The AW is still beading nicely and glossy, i.e. I think the durability is pretty good so far, for a spray wax at least. As easy as it is to use, this product is a no brainer for laying down a quick layer of polymer protection.

I'm happy with EO Nano and don't have a reason to try Aquawax. After washing my car, I dry it and then do a wipedown with Nano. I currently have Megs #26 as my base.

Who actually uses the spray waxes like OCW, Nano, Aquawax, etc as a standalone LSP??????????????? I could care less if it doesn't last 2 months, thats not what I use it for.

I kind of like the nano spray wax as it does hide light imperfections. I haven't tried aquawax and really want to...but i've been spending do much on other products lately...

A lot of folks use OCW as a standalone. I personally feel AW is going to be more durable than OCW, so if there is protection on the car, why not use it? I am currently using/testing AW as a standalone, and its working out great for me so far.

Jim it would be easier to order direct from Duragloss..them being in North Coralina you may have it next day or 2 days..just order on the phone instead of online...tell her you would like it shipped today..call early in the AM so they can get it together before UPS comes...

If you do order make it worth your wild..get the Aquawax and Fast Clean and Shine...thier shipping is 4.95 no matter what...I believe Lexus forum members get 15% off also....you need to find the discount code..they honor it..just found out when some one used it...

10-25 is a code also...for 10%..the lexus one is better 15% but need to find out what it is....

ok found the code...LX-15 tell them you are lexus forum member..

Ya mean I'd have to fake being a Lexus owner? Not sure if it's worth the ignominy..as a 2x Caddy owner, I'd expect maybe 30% discount.. :D :D :D :woohoo:

I just got some AW and will do a test as soon as the weather gets better. I'll be sure to take a ton of photos. Funny how Duragloss is getting alot of rave reviews but I'm not seeing alot of pictures!!! :D

I'd post pics, but don't have any way to upload them at home. And, my camera phone pics aren't too bad, but for some reason they won't post. :( :nixweiss

Even so, I don't personally believe that pics show or prove much anyway about a particular product's abilities, esp. a LSP.

There. Pictures posted of an Aquawax car. My 1987 Corvette Convertible w/ 49k miles.

I used both Nano spray wax and Aquawax. and I.M.O. they are both great ,only different, Nano gives a darker shine and fills in minor swirls. Aquawax gives a brigher shine, is slicker and seems to last much longer.

The Caddy and Vette look nice..and Wet..How can you beat it for 7.00 and get shine and protection for a minumum of 1 month+..

I love it and sing it's praises, but I don't do photos (rarely) since a majority of them are simply beauty shots where camera angles, shade and certain lighting angles enhance the look, not the actual product.

I use nearly every spray wax as I've alluded to in many other posts. A functional visible difference between the AW and NANO is the swirl hiding ability of the NANO. I find AW to be much wetter looking and slickness is similar.

To be honest, a lot of these sprays are very similar, but I give the edge to AW because of the "dipped in salad oil" look I get that really isn't as pronounced with the other sprays except maybe Mothers FX Spray (which is a wonderful $5 OTC product).

Like I've previously mentioned, the AW gets better with age after a day or so when it sits in the garage. I really haven't seen any other product do that since I'm mainly a carnauba guy. Try topping Souveran with AW - fantastic!

I've only used the Nano Spray and don't feel a need to switch over to AW. I'm all for filling in swirls, thats why I like Nano Spray. While it may not fill much, it does fill someone.
