DG 601 dust stopper

Dream Machines
While working on a black metallic two door Astra today, I got some nasty dusting with SFX 1 and Menz IP which annoyed me quite a bit

I decided to add a few drops of 601 to the panel and worked in at 600 to 900 rpm with the rotary

The SFX 1 was worked in at the 700 to 1150 rpm range with the 601 still on the paint and this resulted in zero dust, longer working time and no holograms

The polish spread really nicely and I have done this with each step and so far the results are great. I'm pretty sure that 601 will slightly improve the colour richness and overall lustre as I've tested it on quite a few cars before but never encountered these new qualities of longer working time.

It would be good to see how others go with this.

So what is 601 exactly? On the website it says Polish Bonding Agent. The description is:

Is similar to an epoxy (A&B) and bonds chemically when it comes into contact with durable polishes. Duragloss PBA will double the durability and protection of polishes when applied prior to polishing.

Is it a glaze?

SVR,

Have you talked with anyone at DG about mixing 601 with polishes.

I thought I remember reading a little while back that wasn't a good thing to do.

I could be wrong about that though...

I haven't mixed it together with polish, just applied a small amount by machine and then applied polish pea drops to panel and worked until the polish goes clear.

Mr Bailey told me not to mix it in with polishes or sealants
