I have tried the Aust version with success. As the PC is not available here I gave a mates Dewalt the test with a 3M-waffle pad and Meguiar’s W8006.
Although it weighs a little heavier than my Skil Random Orbital the manoeuvrability especially with the 3M-waffle pad was extremely easy. Using Meguiar’s No.9 I felt the 3M waffle pad (Dark Grey in colour/Soft density) with a higher speed setting, out performed the Meguiar’s W8006 (yellow/medium Density) at medium to high speeds.
The 3M was easier to control, yet retained the polish from flying off, although this is no reflection of the Dewalt.
One standout between the two was the minimal amount of heat the Dewalt generated in the plastic body. I don’t know about the PC but compared to the Skil after 20mins of use it felt like the Dewalt didn’t even get to warm up, most likely due to the job it was intended for, as an industrial sander/polisher. I want one but unfortunately at $340AUD its not a worthwhile buy me.
Cheers
