Sup everyone



I'm just now getting into detailing and fell in love with it.



I'm planning on getting



Flex 3401

Menz SIP, 106

Yellow pad

Orange pad

White pad

Black pad

Blue pad

4xeach

PB Natty wax

PB Ex-p

Clay bar (clay magic)



What i need to know is what am i missing? i know im missing exteroir/interior trim products cleaners and protectant, carpet cleaner, engine bay cleaner, wheel cleaner, wheel wax, wheel well cleaner, leather care, vinyl dash rubber cleaner



I head 303 is good for interior..can it be used on the exterior?



Engine bay, wheel well...can i use like simply green? or will simply green kill my paint under the hood

that's a good starter kit but I would not get the yellow LC pad instead for havier correctionget the purple wool foam pad
 
Purple foamed wool would be a nice addition for heavier correction. You need quality microfiber towels! These are quite popular. I like Detailer's Domain 16x16 uber microfibers as well. There are other choices too such as the Vroom brand located at Target, but the list goes on...



P21S TAW is likely one of the safer cleaners for under the hood and on painted surfaces. The same goes for P21S's wheel cleaners.



I haven't used any 303 products on the exterior. I like Optimum's Leather Protectant (formally Protectant Plus, I think) on interior leather/vinyl.
 
i'd pick up a few more of the white and orange pads. also... plenty of mf towels (both for paint and grunge work), one can never have too many...
 
get plenty of microfiber towels, for both the paint and grunge work. one can never have too many. also, add FK425 to the list...

whats purple foamed wool pad? i thought it was only made for rotary? is that more for compounding? like power gloss or something?



Are those eurow o'reily corp towels better than OTC stuff like autozone, walmart etc.

i was looking at detailed image towels, detailer's domain towels doesnt look too pricey.

which one do you think i should get, i dont wanna polish and use a cheap MF towel and put swirls back on the paint.



Do i use the MF towel to dry car after wash.

pf can be used with a da. it has more cutting power than foam pads. you would use pf first for correction/compounding then move to less aggressive pads and polishes.

your pad selection will be based on many things ie. experience, how much correction is needed, and type of paint (soft/hard), compounded be used with the pad are a few of the things that will determine the pad selection.

You're actually going to need more, especially of the oranges and whites. When using a PC, the pads tend to gum up with product pretty quickly. Instead of going into your house to clean them all the time, its easier to just put a clean one on.

I never owned a buffer but i figure the flex3401 would be more better then the pc

what about for the paint? like wax polish sealant glaze etc

dang i thought 4 of each was overkill

yeah dont feel like stopping to clean the pads i rather put a new one on
 
cd test is where you take a blank cd (some use cd like the aol disk) and rub with the mf a product you plan on using. check cd for scratches. if scratched the mf will scratch your paint.



use my eurow to remove polishes, waxes, sealant, qd's and such on your paint. remeber to remove the tags and wash them before first use.



if your getting the flex you might also consider the flex edge adapter.

there alot of high quality mf towels available both over the counter and online. if you order online, vendors like exceldetail, autogeek, autopia-carcare, etc.., carry them. if you decide to buy them over the counter, k-mart (kragen too) sells the viking quick detailing towel (green), edgeless polishing towel (orange), x-large mf drying towel (gold), and 3pk premium mf towels (yellow). also, many have experienced good results with the orange and grey vroom towels from target as well. can't go wrong with any of these choices...
