Detailing videos...

Great video's, it is one thing reading on how to do some claying, waxing, polishing etc but actually seeing it is the best way!

I was going to post soon looking for a claying video but now I don't need too.

I also purchased the same clay and QD for my new 09 Sierra, never knew it was safe to dilute the QD, glad you showed that as well.

Thanks a million for your time and effort, it will certainly help this newb! :2thumbs:

Glad you liked them. Feel free to post any suggestions as well, no matter how short or simple a video may be.

Very Nice thank you very much. I look forward to more vids...I have a PC so interested in pad priming and clean during/after...Engine bay detailing...door jams...cracks/gaps dust/wax cleaning...glaze/wax application...Maybe some sort of vid of your entire process as in clips edited together showing/explaining from start to finish of wash/clay/compound/polish/wax or whatever and when you did interior jams wheels and what not (hope that made sense lol)

Made my head hurt but made sense haha...

For the PC, I never prime pads and don't recommend it for the simple reason that it takes a long time to break down a polish with the PC, and priming the pad will just extend that time without further benefits. However, with M105 polish, which I usually use on a 5.5" white pad on the PC/G110, I do prime the pad a bit the first time because it helps with the initial correction. After, I brush out the dust and keep reapplying less polish. I'll do a video soon on PC/5.5" pads.

Little interested in how you clean your interior, I usually use 1:10 woolite with a mf towel then apply their choice protectant (matte, ultra shine, or factory, or 303 but its extra because its about $70 a gallon) , have you ever used a steam cleaner for things like the leather seats and door jambs as well as in the engine?

+1 on the polishing and correcting with a pc 5.5 pad, pad priming on css pad

Great work I subscribed about three weeks ago! Continue the great examples!

Thanks Dustin

Hey Dustin, I'm honestly not that experienced with interiors, especially carpets/upholstery and steam... I do interior detailing probably every 4th or 5th detail I do, and I don't do anything for carpets and upholstery other than some spot cleaning. I mainly concentrate on leather, using either Lexol or Leatherique, depending on time constraints... sometimes I'll use APC+ 15:1 to clean, then 303 AP if it's just a quick interior wipe down. For carpets and upholstery I use APC+ at 10:1 with the PC carpet brush (sometimes on the PC sometimes by hand) then just lifting that with a damp mf towel. I'm tried woolite a couple times, but, as I said, I rarely do interiors to actually have a favorite product for it and one I think is much better than others.

I'm hoping to invest in a good steam cleaner soon but it'll be one of the impulse buys as I really have no use for it.

I'll definitely do some polishing videos, comparing the PC 7424 (borrowing locally), PC XP (own), and Makita(own) + G110 if my friend ever returns it or if I can find one to borrow locally. I'll do quite a few videos on the XP vs regular PC with 5.5" pads. Oh and I definitely will be doing pad priming on foam pads, moreso flat than ccs.

Great videos and thanks for taking the time to do them. I just purchased a 7424XP and will be using it on my 7 year old silver Audi A4 it's never been machine polished just hand sealed and waxed. Still trying to decide on what polish to get I'm leaning towards M105/M205. Sealant wise I use CG M-seal and Pete's53 wax.

M105/205 will work good on the PC just don't go crazy with M105 and get 5.5" pads or smaller. Audi has ridiculously hard clear coat so you might need 1-2 passes at least, with M105/orange 5.5" to start doing some damage (to the swirls that is haha)

Quite an interesting sting of videos. I especially liked the one showing your Makita taped up.

Yea a while back I grazed the spoiler on a car with the makita. Nothing was scratched or anything because the polisher just went along with the spoiler, but could've been much worse... Now there's always something on the head of it haha

why would one tape up the nose of the makita?

David Fermani said:
Tape acts as a cushion in case you get too close when buffing. Better than bare metal.

Yup David nailed it, as I said above... better safe than sorry!

I recorded 3 videos today... priming a 5.5" ccs pad, polishing a side panel with the makita (M205/LCW 6.5") and polishing a section of the hood with the PC XP, LCOrange 5.5" CCS

Uploading priming the pad (although it's nothing spectacular)
