Detailing video???

There are a bunch of detailing videos out there but I would be leary as to what I spent my money on. Your best bet is to read around these forums and ask any questions you have and learn from real car enthusiasts and not a production detail shop.

I know when i started detailing I was all about the videos. Everyone told me to read and pracrtice and ithought it was there way of being lazy. Later i learned otherwise. I know adams polishes has some short videos, there not great but its a start. And to be like eveyrone out there who told me to read and practice im gonna say the same thing lol. I know it sucks but don jump into the deepend untill your ready. Start with waxing, then move to polishing, then add claying. Then work on the inside. I would say that you dont need a video its just as easy to go out and spend the money on some wax and start from there. Good luck

The "How To Use a PC for Show Car Results" DVD from ShowCarGarage.com is very good. But, I wouldn't necessarily say it's a detailing video. It's really only about paint polishing. It doesn't cover washing, interior detailing, engine detailing or anything like that.

I'm more so concerend with just the exterior. The washing tips would be nice, but that stuff I can get from here. I want to see a video on operating a buffer so I can take notes on how to use it. I'm a bit afraid to do it to my car with out seeing how it is done.

Thanks for all the help so far guys, I have only been on this forum for a few days and I am loving it. I will tell all the guys on the www.mazda3forums.com about this place!

i watched the vid on showcargarage about washing and it was informative but nothing i didnt already know

the vid from them on the PC os 24 dollars and it is just about the paint

the meguairs vid talks about all aspects and seems to be a better fit for my needs

I have not had a chance to watch any of those movies yet, but thanks for the help. I will be looking into them shortly. I was also wondering if there are any videos on how to repair scratches in the paint. If that is covered in the videos you all mentioned, I'll find that later on. Again, thanks for all the help!

The Video on showcargarage on the PC is a very good one, Mike is very thorough and covered the PC in depth. They are supposed to release on the using the rotary any time now.

Personally, the only part of detailing I ever really wanted to literally see was machine polishing. All the other aspects of detailing I felt I could learn by reading up on them whether it be on-line or in a book. So, I bought the Show Car Garage DVD. IIRC it's 2 hours long and covers only paint polishing. So, it was exactly what I was looking for. IMO $24 is a bargain for such an informative and useful video.
