As an optometrist, I know that keeping your hands clean is of vital importance. There's no way I can approach a patient with stained fingers and dirty nails. So, I found a great way to keep clean while detailing, without wearing the requisite gloves.
What I do is rub some GoJo or Permatex waterless hand cleaner gel well into my skin and nails before I go to work. Take your time and it'll feel like it isn't even there. It gets in the pores and all the tight spots that are hard to get clean after you're all gunked up. When you clean up later, it's like you never got dirty at all.
I found it especially helpful after an oil change. It is also ideal before any type of spray painting or working with extra tough paints like anti-fouling marine paint and epoxy paints.
Hope this helps!
