PG is a pretty aggressive compound but it breaks down so nice that I am betting it can be used with a PC with great results. I have not as of yet tried it with a PC myself.



I would not use PG often since IP should be all you need to adjust or touch up the finish every few months. I would save the PG for those mishaps that IP or DACP can't handle.



I used a polishing pad with the PG as the paint was not in horrible condition. On your 5 year old car with moderate swirls I would use or start with PG and a polishing pad first, Really work the product and don't over apply it as you will just gum up the pad and waste the PG.



A yellow cutting pad might be overkill and would not use it without first using the white pad and then an orange pad. The orange pad aggressive enough to cut and level and yet forgiving enough to also polish, especially when use with a diminishing abarsive product like PG. Finish off with either FP or AIO either by hand or the PC and a finishing pad. I am of the believe that a yellow cutting pad and an aggressive product is too harsh to be used with a PC as I feel it only introduces more marring and hazing.

From what I can tell the paint looks amazing, I don't think I've seen that color before either and I'm really curious to know what it looks like in person. Are you going to detail the entire car?

But I'll make it up to you by posting a bunch more pictures of this beautiful car after it is all detailed, inside and out. I'll include engine pictures and also pics of some interior carpets that are stained and may be a real struggle as the carpets are white in color:shocked



I will take pictures of it in the sun so you can all see the brilliance and beauty of this paint, although you are right, seeing it in person beats pictures any day.



I may finish it tomorrow if the weather keeps nice. It rained here today so I had to force myself to pick up a Ferrari 550 today and drive it about 100 miles to a paint shop. Mine is a rough job but dang it, someone has to do it! If the weather is good I'll finish it tomorrow and post up more pics so keep an eye out.

Thanks for the explaination, that's exactly what I was looking for. The PG must be pretty good to be able to go right to FP or AIO!
 
OK, well I got to JUST ABOUT finish this Porsche today, that is until my wife called and had to be picked up somewhere because she took our van in for brakes and belt change:angry



So I have a few pictures here but please take notice that the tires are not dressed nor is the fine detail work done, like detailing the trim and lights.



I will come back Monday and finish the interior and the few items left on the exterior.

The best looking Porsches came from the late 80's and early 90's, at least IMO.:D
 
Anthony, You did a beautiful job on that 911 Turbo. The paint on the Porsche's of that era was the best ever.

I have used PG on the hood of my new Porsche, my motorhome, my bathtub and the plexiglass armour gard on my neighbor's motorhome. Each of these applications was with the PC. This polish is the best when applied by machine. On two of the above applications I used it to remove 1500 and 2000 grit sanding marks. It worked perfectly.

I agree with what some have said in that this style Porsche is my favorite also:xyxthumbs I mean the new Porsches are beautiful but this style has a certain "something" that the newer models just don't have.
